OR Honda. Its possible to force Honda to supply another team under the rules. I think GM would not like that idea but its a possibility if Ferrari doesn't have capacity (they should though).
does anyone know the nature of the Maffei/Michael Andretti beef? Sirius was once a sponsor on Andretti's Indycar team, does it go back to that, or....?
Michael will be in the pits at every race next year, gearing up for 2026. The name that has been developing the car and the team all along, the name that has built a facility, the name that brought in Cadillac, and the name that will be one of the two on the car when it hits the grid, is Andretti. Removing his name at this time is pure face saving for Toto and the others. Liberty wants Andretti-Cadillac in the show and Liberty will get them.
Autoexremist excerpt from the announcement: "We're excited to partner with General Motors in bringing a dynamic presence to Formula 1,” said Dan Towriss, CEO of TWG Global’s motorsports businesses. "Together, we’re assembling a world-class team that will embody American innovation and deliver unforgettable moments to race fans around the world. We appreciate FIA and FOM’s support of our application and their recognition of the value we can bring to the championship.’’ Me: Michael who? No mention of Andretti Motorsport.
Nope, my time came and went. However some of my pals have been working on it i.e. paint schemes, etc. I'm going to inquire who did the bodywork, but I'm guessing the aero guys did that. They've been working on this for quite some time.
Interesting on how Cadillac will design the turbo.....will they go with the basic design or split it.
GM makes a 2.0 turbo production engine and (via Ilmor) a 2.2l V6 turbo IndyCar hybrid engine, I think they'll figure it out it's not all SBC's over there
Honda supplies the fewest teams. The can be forced to supply another team as to their agreement to be engine suppliers. But I think Ferrari will do it as Sauber moves to Audi. There is capacity at Ferrari.
GM Design has the original Ferrari engine Mr. Mitchell rejected as 'not fast enough' still in it's original crate. He wasn't called 'Wild Bill' for nothing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Obsolete article, entry confirmed officially Monday. Pit garage logistics have been discussed, not an insurmountable problem.
While it was indeed confirmed Monday, not everyone got to hear Horner's comments. Deleted nontheless.
