Yes, and they have a 10mm head as well. (Porsche)
It's tricky, there are two ways for a good launch. If you have a fresh ish clutch, 4000rpm and release it quickly but not a dump. Clutch will slip for a second and grab and you'll get a really good tire spin free launch. Not great for the clutch and if you get it wrong you smoke it. Other is 5500 rpm and dump it with l wheel spin, let it drop to 4k and hook. Both will give you a sub 5 0-60... The latter is more fun and looks/sounds cooler but I don't know if I'd do it on a prepped track. It could also depend on tires, some do well with some slip and others don't.
It made 340rwhp 250rwtq before all of this. The plan of course was what I quoted above. (and header lengths were focused on the same). The results are what I was intending and the numbers are much better than I expected. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So: + 32.67 rwhp and only - 3.7 rwtq? That sounds like a fantastic trade-off to me. How does it feel? I would imagine that much of a high-rpm power bump is very noticeable.
I've got to get my car on a Dynojet again. This is what I got on 4-25-13 with one faulty fuel injector and one of my OEM exhaust manifolds which was leaking at the time... The ECUs were remapped and the redline raised to 9,000. I forgot to mention that the catalytic converters were gutted prior to my purchasing the car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It feels amazing, I'm super happy with it. Part of it would be due to the new weight. (I need to work on corner weights next) And paint the hood. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah I was hoping to do the same but was unable to get Felix to send me chips with a higher rev limit. I'll probably address engine management but it's been so long I just wanted to get it together and running.
A few more things if interested, here is the inlet trumpets after porting. They were originally a bit smaller than the throttle bodies and had less than ideal transition from the top to bottom piece. Couldn't make them any bigger without the flanges probably cracking off. Had to enlarge the rubber gasket openings as it is.
Also have a full set of undertrays if anyone needs them. I replaced them with an awesome set of super light carbon fiber replacements Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login View attachment 3497290
And just a couple of the headers in the car Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Most owners would be happy with 330 hp How did you notice that one of your injectors was faulty? I‘m interested because I never checked mine. New ones are not available and I don‘t know the quality of the aftermarket „rubber“ parts. So still running the old injectors and never checked them … i feel guilty
My car ran great despite a slightly melted header, sloppy valve guides and apparently room for improvement on the injectors. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Also would add that the wide open throttle air fuel ratio previous to the most recent work was a bit lean up to 6500rpm or so. After injector cleaning the new dyno results show nearly perfect air fuel ratio, despite the modifications.
I had a couple of hydro-lock episodes which prevented the engine from turning over during start-up. We were able to remedy this by putting the car into 5th gear and having my tech crew push my car forward until it overcame the resistance I felt. Then it started normally. Having indwelling fuel pressure gauges at the time helped my technician isolate the affected cylinder bank. I now have a single heavy-duty Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator with an indwelling FPR... I have been including fuel injector service from RC engineering every 5 years during my major service to get ahead of any fuel mixture related problems.
FBB, I've added regular fuel injector cleaning and calibration Q5 years to my car's service routine too. Barry
