Will try to find those articles re access panels. I was able to take the passenger seat out pretty easy. Was missing the front bolt (anyone know what size that is?) but the drivers seat looks more challenging. I see a knob at the foot of the seat - maybe pull on that to release the front? Not sure about the back.
Well it’s all quite the project. The rest of December time off days are dedicated to final touches on the Quattroporte - new alcantara for the steering wheel and both drivers armrests and some other stuff. Have the Bora parts on order.

The passenger seat is removed by pulling on the plastic knob in the front of the seat. This will release the front. In the back you should find a screw on either side where the seat goes up and down. Those are removed a with allen wrench. The early Boras did not have the rear screws so your might not have them.

The passenger seat only has bolts in the rear. The seat hooks in the front to the floor (see photo). I would post a photo of the part that goes on the seat but I just noticed that my car is also missing it. It is shown on Table 37 Fig 4 of the parts manual. Should not be difficult to make something that will work.

Thanks Ivan. I actually have the big clip for the front of the passenger seat. It’s missing its bolt but I have bags o bolts from prior projects. I’ll see if my driver seat has rear screws or not.

I don’t think I can find the articles mentioned above in the club magazine re access panels. Enrico has a bunch of cover shots of the mags but they’re not indexed anywhere on the web I can find. I’m hoping I can do my brake lines from below with the car on ramps and won’t need to add access hatches.

It would be great if MIE scanned all to the magazines to produced into a PDF format and then went about indexing them but after the current owner shut down the club stopped collecting membership fees I doubt that he has any interest in such a project. I have almost all of the publications since 1984, there were some earlier ones, but I'm not going to go through all of them. The former Maserati website that was on Yahoo had a lot of info but that website was owned by a realty uncooperative prick who just let it all die. Klaus Groth's Bora was purchased by former MIE owner Kerry McMillan and I don't know where George Marin's Bora is now. Those two and mine had this modification.

Page 75 of the Maserati Bora Use & Maintenance manual gives 1,500kg (3,306lbs) dry weight, and 1830kg (4,034lbs) "total weight at full load".

    Otherwise, take your pick..

Road & Track special issue published 1989, stated a Curb Weight of 3,570lbs.
Road & Track issue published June 1971, curb weight 3,100lbs.
    Car and Driver, November 1972, c/w 3,500lbs.
    Car Magazine, January 1972, c/w 3,080lbs.
    Autosport Magazine, June 1974, 1ton, 10.5cwt.
Motor Sport magazine, April 1974, "over 1-1/2ton"
    Road & Track Special issue 1979, 3,800lbs.

    Cheers,

Yeah, I think that's his point.
I haven't weighed mine but 4,000 lbs is absurd. You'd have have pair of Pavorattis in the car and a full tank of gas.

Requesting an answer. Some of you guys have been wrenching on Boras for decades. I really need to know...Can that left rear hard brake line from the block near the hydraulic pump where brake lines converge to the rear rubber brake hose at the caliper be changed, with the engine in the car, and just using jack stands. I have the car up, it looks rather difficult. Theres at least two clips holding the brake line to the frame that I don't think I can get close enough to in order to unclip the brake line, unless theres a trick to that. That being said, if someone can confirm theyve done it and offer any advice I'm all ears. Thanks for your help. :)

.. as much time as I've spent wrenching around under there, I have not had the need to work on that brake line.

However, I'm an eternal optimist and always believe that one can work on a vintage Maserati within the confines you set for yourself - meaning I think it can be done. The question would be to figure out how - how to remove the old line, and shape the replacement line, or segment it so it is doable.

The clips are just bent into place, so unbend them to release the existing line. Or bend them partway and see how loose you get that line, see whether you have to cut it into segments to get it out. If you have to cut it, then proceed. Use it as a template for a new line and go from there.. ?

'Tis not so easy as that. Once you unfold those tabs anywhere near the heat of the headers the brake line will fall apart. Check them ASAP! I had the luxury of doing it while my engine, transaxle and subframe were out. You don't want to experience it while driving. I think having the one enlarged inspection hole and the additional one behind the drivers seat would make not just this service easier but any other service such as the AC compressor, alternator upgrade ... etc far easier to deal with. Or ... fight like hell and invent new cuss words. I've done it both ways. If your body is young almost anything is possible ... otherwise lord give you mercy. I reached the mercy stage about 5 years ago and found none ...

I’ll see how it goes this weekend but think I have about a 5% chance of success. Even getting the line back into position looks challenging.
