Jim Clark. We will never see the like of him again.
I am glad I followed F1 during his era.

The penalty was his fault. The puncture I guess could be called bad luck, though the exact same thing happened to Sainz on the very same lap. Still not 100% certain, but it did appear to be a case of the tires were at the end of their life.

Next two years are going to be tough. :(

Hopefully Charles finds his groove and relegates Lewis to number two. Otherwise is going to be a soap opera **** show from the Scuderia.

The question is who does Fred think is their number one?

If they are winning, Ferrari doesn't care what kind of show it is. I don't care either.

Ferrari only cares about money IMO, winning is inconsequential as long as the dollars roll in.

I’ll only be pulling for half the team next year. ;)

Ah, the king of “it’s not that simple”, aka what if/should have/shouldn’t have/etc weighs in…trying, yet again, to re-write history.
Except George didn’t keep the win.
BTW, race results are what matter.

If Ham performs like Sainz at Ferrari then i think they will be happy and the marketing will be through the roof.
I mean the masses LOVE lewis. People were chanting his name today at the end. He may not be popular amongst purists, fchat etc but the random person loves him so ferrari will be sure to capitalize financially on that... with extra motivation he should do at least allright... One thing remains: (sorry William) i do find that british athletes tend to not do well outside england sportswise (specially soccer usually), Mansell did ok at ferrari but i am not sure Lewis is suited for the italian culture . Time will tell !

yes I like to look into things past the most basic elementary figures out there. Context does matter.

To argue the greatness of Lewis by showing the statistics of a close points gap to Russell, they both have 2 wins, etc while ignoring the facts that George has a win stripped that Lewis inherited and then to insult anyone that points out that reality.

Would you make the same claim that Ocon was better than Alonso in 2022 since he finished with more points?

It was a little strange that Formula 1 organized a special end for Lewis to park his car on the track, the same as the podium finishers. They even made him his own special sign to park in front of. Obviously it was pre-planned. To do this for a guy that finished 7th in the championship with a team that finished 4th is very unusual. For Formula 1 to specifically celebrate the farewell between Lewis and Mercedes is odd if you ask me. It really doesn't help the narrative that there is British bias and/or Lewis bias, and/or Mercedes bias.

If it was Lewis' final race before retirement, I could understand it.

A bit sour that Lewis couldn't even stick around to address the crowd or fans when they did this for him. Sky Sports had one giant erection for Lewis tonight, I guess that's to be expected, but man it was a little strange to me.

Sorry you took it as an insult…
    But…
You are the KING of shoulda/woulda/coulda while glossing over what actually happened. “IF” Russell had not been DQ’d…
    Well, he was.
Drilling down 5 layers doesn’t change what actually happened.

I still think that, from a purely racing point of view, Ferrari was wrong to break a very good pairing.

You're right it doesn't change the results on wikipedia. But it can sure cloud someone to thinking that Lewis was almost as good as George Russell in 2024 when in fact he got crushed in equal equipment.

It’s been like this all season online, you’d swear there were no other drivers the way they focus on him. Even when he’s a back marker all the media outlets fawn over him. Nothing is ever his fault

I get the attention when he was winning but the way the media went out of its way this past season to generate press about him and make every race about him is nauseating. How many other midfield/back markers get shown like he does during a race? lol, he could be dead last and they still will show his in car before the leader. I think they must get a royalty or kick back for Lewis news! :D

I imagine it will be a million times worse next year. If he fails to succeed it will be comical to watch the media blame Ferrari and everyone else but Lewis.

They get more dollars by winning. So by your logic, if they care about money, they care about winning.
