Not necessarily the car, more the seller not being up front about its history.

Damage, respray, even the brake conversion are all "overlookable" for a fun driver car provided there's documentation and disclosure. It's the question of "what else are they covering up/hiding" at this point.

A savvy DIYer with the space to correct issues could get a smoking deal on it if they go in with the manheim photos from February though. ;)

Yikes, after reading the thread comments first I thought the ask price probably started with a 1, which would be intriguing…..but $230, uh no.

Wow. If this car pulled anything close to that asking price I’d probably list my car lol!

Anybody was able to get any more info on this one? Was it a color change or a wrap? I got the chance to purchase this vehicle and want to gather some info. At the moment the car is blue and has gold wheels. It’s also Inop due to a bad battery and possibly a main fuse. Please see attached pic. Any thoughts on what should I pay for this? And after repair value?

Is it salvage title or are we just dealing with damage history? If salvage, I have friends who swear by the “half of fair market value” rule for their purchases. Myself, I’ve never purchased a salvage vehicle. since there’s some documentation about the damage history, I would really want to understand the full extent of the mechanical issues Before providing a valuation. These cars are tricky. Could be something very minor could be something very major. If I’m a seller and I have a problem with the car that makes it an operable that could be fixed easily, I’m definitely doing that before I try to sell it. So yeah, buyer beware.

I wouldn't go near it unless you plan for two things:
1- Keeping it long term, resale will always be a PITA
2- Doing a lot of the work yourself

Red flag: Anytime the sellers says "all it needs is just..."

If it was that easy, it would have already been done to get maximum profit. This screams basket case to me that costs way too much to fix.

Totally agree. On the other hand, I found these cars pretty easy to work on. Everything is so accessible. It’s just that diagnostics can be tricky (f1 system) and parts are expensive. But if the price is right and you don’t mind diy….

Also keep in mind,at least from my own opinion and expirience of 44 plus years and in car bussiness, Carfax or Autocheck could be incorrect!!!!
