Well of course a Senna is gonna Trump a 720 and if you had a 650 as well that would certainly help.

It is a numbered car unlike Ferrari VS versions, they were not easy to get regardless of where you were. It doesn't really matter.

I am curious which cars you have to compare it to though. Would love to see a pic.

AV is all about show not the driving capabilities. They sound great and look amazing though. With that said I wouldn't mind an SVJ or SV roadster.

FWIW, 765 is my one and only Mclaren and I did get it from new. Covid was just starting and I had a deal to acquire a member here’s Pista. Really great guy he doesn’t post much here anymore. Anyway, his dealer stepped in and executed their ROFR and then tried to sell me the same car for $40k more. On principle alone, no way.

So on a whim a called McPhilly and said I’d love a 765 and they told me not happening. I don’t know if it was Covid scaries in the beginning before the asset bubble and they had trouble allocating the cars but they called me back in a week and said actually I can probably get one. I spec’d it And I still have it.

My original intention was to keep 458 Speciale and 765. But literally, first drive in 765 and it was so much better I knew 458 S was time to go. I was lucky to buy that car low and sell high. I certainly am taking a different financial approach with the 296 which will eliminate the profits on my lifetime Ferrari ledger lol.

Probably one of the few, my local dealer sold out immediately for both coupe and spider.

765 plus equaled Senna minus - moved to Ferrari when Porsche dealer was opening a Mac store, then they were offered Ferrari and I followed suit. Moving more towards F brand and now all in.
LT vs Speciale - Speciale preferred bc LT spider door opening / seat were miserable as was Lambo SV.
Mac possibly the best digital turbo of all - SF90 / 296 which imo leveled the playing field, although Mac curb weight is impressive.
I did have some expensive items on Senna when warranty expired but overall the build quality was amazing both were MSO carbon cars.
Remember your purchase and others here who posted in Mac life - post in this thread.
296VS vs SF90XX - VS likely more popular overall - prefer larger versions but with 296GTS comfort / seat position is excellent which Lambo / Mac on smaller versions tailored for under 6 ft as was the SV.
Unless you flip n out like a fast food restaurant these cars are all losers - key is to keep a few along the way to justify this insanity we have.

Can someone explain "road presence". I see that term used here off and on. Honestly not sure what it means or why it matters.

Sure, I'll take a shot at it.
The 296 is a bit more subtle in its overall appearance compared to the sf90. It's much smaller and more curvaceous. Therefore, it has a less menacing presence or as some would say "road presence".

    again some meat:

The development of the Ferrari F171VS (296 Versione Speciale) can be observed in Maranello on an almost daily basis!!! While most people mistake these vehicles as „regular“ 296 with camouflage it’s worth to take a closer look to discover e.g. a possible S-duct and air intakes on the lower side-parts just close to the rear wheels!!!

SWIPE ⬅️ to see one of the cars with obvious changes on the the front hood and on the side-skirts that differ much from a regular 296!!!

Concerning the engine, it’s much likely that it will keep the V6-Hybrid-TT but with a larger power output.⚡️ One question that still remains open is: Will it feature a black bar between the headlights…?!?

GIven the huge depreciation and all the talks about it on the forum do you even want a VS?

I would not be surprised it goes south like all hybrid cars.

How far south has the SF90 XX gone? What’s your data show for the LAF or 918?

The VS versions have historically been winners $$$ wise. Our Pista was $428, sold for $550k and is now worth even more. Pista Apertas are at least +100k over the coupes. IF you can get a VS its a very safe assumption that you will be more than OK in terms of depreciation.

Pista was meant to be the final ICE/V8 car though. Covid brought on the F8, right?

SF90 XX is the first VS hybrid we’ve seen so that’s really the only data point we have to go off of. LaF is a halo car so that doesn’t count.

296 is already at used market levels with F8. SF90 is really low. So the hybrid game for Ferrari has not been kind on a resale level. We will have to wait and see

Wow if that’s all they do to it, that will be pretty damn disappointing.

The good news is that it will be VERY easy to get an allocation if the styling changes are THIS mild.

This would be roughly on par with what they did for Pista/Speciale/Scud, and more than they did with CS (which was just wheels and a rear grille?)

The visual tweaks are usually pretty subtle on paper (except SF90XX wing) but the VS usually ends up being a much better looking car than the base. Hard to judge under camo, but I'm sure it'll be great.

Cost basis for Pistas and Speciales was much lower though. We'll have to see how production numbers compare also.

There's also the "last NA V8" and "last V8" distinctions, which mean something to at least some market participants.

None of this means that you're wrong, but I'm not sure I'd call it a safe bet. Higher volumes and higher stickers are likely to be headwinds to profitable resale.

I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing if it results in more people driving their cars and fewer people "investing". If you like the car, buy it, drive it and enjoy it!

Another data point we need to look at is where are Pista prices trending now? I am not sure when that member sold his Pista, but covid prices were inflated for everything. Used car prices are coming back to reality (yes, even Ferrari prices). Of course the VS cars are going to do better than non-VS, but going for 2x sticker on a car that had higher production numbers than the F8 is absurd.

Private market sales of SF90XX (MSRP + premium/right to the build slot) have already traded north of $1 mil. $1.5 mil to $1.9 mil for XX Spider. Big numbers!

SF90xx MSRP's will be over a million, I can't see them going for over 2 million, but who knows. I'm thinking 500k over msrp
