Sigh…. Money pit my a$$! Pumps it up and then tears it down. I have 3 and soon to be 4 sorted cars. Typically it is $hi22y owners that cause the problems, as well as poorly trained or lackadaisical techs :)

Definitely the kind of guy that gives exotic car owners a bad rep. I'd be willing to bet he has absolutely zero friends.

Will be listing my 99 F1 GTS with carbon seats, red calipers, drilled rotors, US-spec car with 26k miles soon if anyone is interested. Car had a major service I believe in 2018 or 19 so it is due for a major, but it's only been driven 1k miles max since and store in temperature controlled garage, everything looks fresh still.

Just did the annual service which included oil and brake fluid, while I was in there did all the engine and transmission mounts, the F1 system was serviced and recalibrated.

Buttress cracking has been repaired/resolved. No sticky anywhere in the interior (all fixed). Car has Fabspeed headers and cats with a Tubi Exhaust.

Currently wearing 19" Hamann PG3 wheels. Can be delivered on refinished stock wheels should you choose.

Asking $135k USD. DM me if interested.

I'm not sure on the spec of the wheels...they're 19". They're in 355 spec though which is hard to find these days.

As for the bumper, this is a US car that was imported into Canada and Canadian "5 mph" bumpers were put on at that time. Original bumpers not included.

New member here, so please take it easy on me. I've had my eye on a 355 that's been sitting a LONG time. It's a 99, convertible F1 car that's been sitting for at least 13 years, mostly inside but is now outside under a cover, exposed to the elements for at least the last year. At first quick glance it needs a top, major cleaning as there's mold on some of the interior, it has 26K miles and is due for a major service, plus whatever else would come up after 13+ years of sitting. It's not perfect, couple of paint chips here and there, no idea on VIN history, but the last time I talked to the owner he was asking $65K as it sits today. I think that's way too high, but anyway, to my main point.. given what i've read about the F1 box and the lack of parts available in general, is this even something worth taking on? If so, at what price? The car is located in northern California, so any referrals to honest mechanics that know these cars would be appreciated also.

A convertible F1 in perfect condition is still the lowest-value 355 variant possible....value of this one all depends on how bad it is. If it really just needs a major and some cleaning, maybe it's a $50k car, probably more realistically $35-40k (it's going to need tires, etc). If you don't know these cars, I would make an agreement with the seller that a sale is contingent on the results of a PPI with an experienced mechanic. Or offer him $25k. Because if the engine's bad, that's probably what it's worth.

fyi, the F1 has a manual gearbox...the F1 stuff is the ancillaries (actuator, pump, etc) -- the gearbox/clutch themselves are the same as manual, except for the shift selector shaft.

If the car is in the Bay Area, I would suggest getting it over to Roselli for a PPI and assessment of estimated cost outlay needed to bring it back to functional/reliable/roadworthy condition.

(they currently service my 355 GTB and C4S)

If you remove the wheel one day you can check inside: size should be written somewhere.

I wasn't aware about those bumpers.
Really strange they copy it but without holes.
    Nice car anyway. :)
