Recently I had a lot of work done to comply with CA smaug rules, and then I let it sit for a month or so. So today it would not start. My first thought was it must be fuel related as the injectors, warmer, and rest of the fuel system was refurbished as part of the Smaug work (also had cat packs replaced). But no, I don't think so.

My 1987 328 GTS has always had issues with the fuse box since after just a month or so of ownership. Today it was showing the same old issue of it not starting unless I drop the fuse box. See video for how it operates.

You will see that as you start to move the panel the car starts to change engine speed and ultimately stall as it is moved back up into the position to be secured.

I am very sure it is wiring, not a relay, as I have gone through the relays a few times with a friend. But it could be a loose relay, though I do check them all.

Suggestions welcomed. If someone has a actual 328 that they had this issue with and found a fix, that is what I am looking for. Other than that, any suggestion is welcome. Note I think it is the LEFT side wire bundle that has a bad connection somewhere - I am not an electrical engineer nor am I really qualified to mess around with high voltage circuits.

Attachment shows the wire I think is the issue.

If you have the original board in there, it's probably delaminating and causing problems, looks like someone has added some things to that connector as well, could be overloaded, or simply have one or two burnt connections.
Check out GT parts newly manufactured boards or Guido here makes new ones for our cars

Someone added a burglar alarm which I would like to get rid of. Can you give me the user id @ link to these two members you mentioned?

Burn evidence on left side connector. Did ship board to GT yesterday. Hope the connector does not need attention, if so, that is out of my range as a software developer.
