Strong statement, i know plenty of f car owners who succeeded in life being ALL ABOUT THEMSELVES and $$$
Guy lives his life and is judged as being 'less' than the one judging him lol. Not one of us?? Who are you?? You decide for all eh? One must live as you decide? Guess you are god today. What will you be tomorrow lol.
Yes, I agree "he is not wired to be one of us" can also have different meanings, some of them very unpleasant and undeserved.
William you are making this into something I did not mean. You are as. Ad as the sensationalized media
Everyone is entitled to their opinions here no?Respectfully I think you’re taking his harmless opinion a little too serious IMO. I also don’t think there is anything wrong with Lewis being out for himself if that’s the case. Ultimately isn’t every driver? After all only one can be champion.
Again we will see. Vettel learnt italian very quickly and showed love i didnt hink he had, same for sainz. Give the guy a chance, if not give him the benefit of the doubt. Its everyones dream to drive for ferrari or own one (for the most part)
Vettel embraced the culture and the notion that he wasn't "bigger" than the Scuderia. He stayed humble. I don't think that's in Lewis' nature but he could prove me wrong. It will be interesting to see if he dials it down to let the focus be on the team/performance or if he shows up on day one in full circus mode with the clothes and DEI nonsense. Lol, I don't think he can help himself!
I don't wish he dial himself down for anybody. Its not his problem if some else does'nt like something. Max doesn't dial himself down, many drivers don't. In fact I hope he turns himself up. Be who you are.
He's gonna find out quickly with the Scuderia. There's an etiquette when driving for the Scuderia. Also, Hamilton MUST learn Italian as that is the culture at Ferrari F1. Very very different from Brixworth or Brackley.
No etiquette required when driving for the Scuderia. Vettel use to curse out Charlie Whiting, lose his cool, Schumacher use to crash into other drivers etc. All Ferrari wants to do is win and make money winning.
That was under a different TP and a different FIA Director. Since then, things have changed....especially with the Scuderia as of late. Remember Binotto scolding Leclerc outside the Ferrari paddock area?
Schumacher never really learned Italian apart from some conventional sentences. Hamilton must WIN first and foremost with the Scuderia. Nothing more, nothing less ..
Domenicali said that Hamilton must learn to speak Italian. He should know a thing or 2 about the Scuderia.
I think learning italian is indeed very important. Italy is one of the few country in europe where english is not very well spoken and the scuderia is a national treasure. As far as his clothes well... i personally don't care but maybe if he wears italian brands such as Gucci, DG etc ... maybe it is different... Italy is, afterall, the country of fashion
I mean if Soccer player can pick up german playing at bayern munich id say lewis can pick up italian a little bit.
I'm not very fond of imposing difficult tasks to those not suited for them; I would say he's got enough with conducting himself well enough in English. Let's not stress his capabilities too much, can we?
Is learning Italien part of Hamilton's contract ? Also, You can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make it drink.
I don't think Fred spoke Italian before heading to Ferrari, yet he seems to be getting on just fine. He has a much more difficult job in that he must interact with every department. Lewis needs to communicate with a small group of people in comparison. I'm sure LH will be fine.
I doubt it, but niether is learning English either i.e. Ferrari. English is the language of F1. Lewis doesn't have to learn Italian should he chose not to. We'll see how far that gets him once he has joined Ferrari.
it's not about learning Italian just to be able to communicate within the team; in fact it's not necessary, almost all of them speak English now anyways. Kimi never learned italian either. But to bond with the vast team, it's always been advisable when driving for Ferrari to learn to speak Italian. Italians are pretty emotional people and will see it as a huge gesture if a driver learns to speak their language. It's a form of respect, a want to be there, that sort of thing. Kimi got away with it because he's Kimi, his entire persona has always been to race and win, and leave all the politics aside. Hell he did the bare minimum to the press even. That said RE Kimi, those around him within the team he took with him drinking etc, which is another way of bonding with your coworkers.
