That’s insane. I’m sure I could make these - better than original and offer them for less than $250.00. How much demand is out there?

They do seem to be hard to find. I think Stefan at Red Bay was going to do a run of these from what I remember, I was looking for one when I thought I lost mine when I moved but I found it!
Maybe Stefan will chime in here.

I believe I have one with the spare parts that came with my '85 QV Cab. Never bothered to put it on. Maybe I should list it on the Bay for $500 or so. I just can't do such things, damn conscience... heh

If you have a spare cover, I'm sure someone here would give you a fair price for it, some folks are trying to make their cars "complete" and only missing that part!

No, list it on eBay for $100 with free world-wide shipping just to piss off the current seller and make the available quantity 200 :p

I should clarify since technically it isn't a spare, it is the one that goes on the car. I just haven't had the inclination to install it yet. Kind of tight in that area. I keep it on a Battery Tender Plus, and so far since 2018 everything has been fine. Not looking forward to replacing the battery, but I suppose that will be a fun little project when the time comes (through the wheel well).

Once you get the wheel and liner off, the battery is quite accessible, not as easy as pulling one out from the top as on most cars, but doable with a bit of perseverance. I have replaced mine twice in the past 10 years.

I was going to post that from Stefan's website, but afraid I'd risk a ban for doing so, LOL!

2 months later and the used battery cover is still for sale on ebay, but with a reduced price of £350 + £10 shipping. Likely to be there for another 2 months I think...
