    Just a friendly PSA:

Never trust a fart....or a sneeze, cough, a hollar, etc. Add a green light on a battery tender to the list.

My 812 now identifies as a bricked hybrid.

This will be my second battery of the year. Light was green when I pulled the adaptor both times. I guess out of necessity this time around, I finally noticed the light had remained illuminated green even after I detached it.

I hate modern cars for this very thing. I don't know why auto makers don't put in a small redundant back up battery just to start a bricked car and let the alternator charge up the main battery in some kind of limp mode.

Boy that sucks! Very expensive brick. Sad when a pos Toyota works better than $450k ferrari. I have owned the best battery tenders. They just don’t work! The way to keep your battery healthy is to either drive the car regularly or put tender on for a week then turn it off for a week to allow the battery to cycle from full charge to something less from parasitic draw.

I had to learn my lesson too.

With the tech and power available today it’s absurd that we have to put up with that.

Thanks a lot guys! Now that's one more thing to worry about. LOL. I've had my cars on tenders, two Deltran's (yes, I know) and the rest Ctek's, when I store them for approx. five months - late Oct. to early April. Been doing it for probably 20+ years and never any problem come Spring. Guess I'll go out and check the little green lights.

After it happened the first time didn't it occur that maybe the tender was defective?

on a related note, i always had BOTH green lights lit on the tender, took the car out for a ride, plugged it back in and now only one green light is lit? What would cause this?
