any more rumors on the 296 speciale? Someone on this forum must have some juicy unsubstantiated heresy rumors to post for fun! I will start to get things going: heard from a friend of the cousin of a dealer sales person that it is going to be called the Mugello for sure and that it will have a turbo v-6 but will not be a hybrid - so take out the weight of battery and motor from the 296 and drop-in a 800+ hp turbo v6....

    i wish i didn´t. what a beautiful car!
    same as the 458Speciale, 430Scud, 360CS - all gorgeous!

    Lots of truth here.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out given it will be significanty higher priced than past VS’s. Production numbers also relevant particularly if numbers outstrip Pista.
I suspect any opportunity for VS to recover all losses from a previous new gtb purchase will be difficult to achieve.

Reading he’s owned track focused cars the answer becomes clear.

GTS as good as it is won’t deliver the same level of emotion and connection of the track focused versions. Once you become accustomed to driving track focused cars then it’s tough for any regular version to be loved in the same way - especially as a fun car which is really what these cars are all about…. or should i say used to be all about.

you are not wrong, but the diff between a 911 vs a 911RS is huge vs a 458 and a Scud. Or any of the VS's vs their base siblings.

Yeah but also none of those Porsches base variants (non vs model) are selling on the used market at the same price as the previous gen base model either because of the hybrid equation. Performance wise (not to mention a gen newer) , the 296 and f8 should not be trading for anywhere near the same price, yet here we are

Sounds good, at least 296 good. So that’s a positive considering the F80. We’ll get a similar rear, no fixed wing it appears (thank God). More aggressive front and side. Could be perfect!

I really hope this is true… has anyone else heard this? That the hybrid system will be taken out?

Unless I saw these trades with my own eyes I would say there is exactly zero chance that these numbers are true. I think it’s absolute nonsense, but hey I’m happy to be proven wrong. I hope for everyone that has one that they are true.

No, the cars (coupe/convertible/Piloti) will be shown in March/April in Australia or Japan. It will be great to see the F80 in person. I very much prefer the 12cilindri live as opposed to the photos, and the F80 should be spectacular!
