I’ve one.. Mine is 2015, S as well. Get one with sport exhaust and crono kit if possible. Worth the sporty note. Ian sent me this link.. https://www.pcarwise.com/local-help/porsche-common-problems/porsche-macan-common-problems/ Ive the pcm screen, oil leak- timing case and transfer case issues… All fixed by Porsche (with 80-90% subsidised) The car is great. Fast, agile for a car this heavy and nice for cruising. Generally gets over speed limit before you know it but I still prefer my A5 manual .. Inside is smaller than you think. Really a x4 person car. mine just done 90k kms. Fuel around town can get up to 13.6litre per 100kms. Mine has 21inch tyres which I think are too low a profile and blow out on kerbs a few times … ride too firm for it but good in corners. Try get 20inch I reckon. if you want an suv, nothing is better value in my opinion
Cheers man, appreciate the reply. He dropped the price of the car another $2000 last night Random lol But thanks heaps, definitely has it's fair share of potential issues/faults. And I haven't seen one in person yet, but I am flying to Mackay tomorrow to spend days off there, so I might check it out as it may be too small for my family. My big girls turn 13 in April 2025 and they are both 165cm tall now, so I don't want them cramped up in the back seats if I don't have to. But all good, thanks heaps again man and I will get onto him next Tuesday or Wednesday to check it out if it's still for sale by then.
Nah man, still has his old Hilux and Wife 2020 Mazda CX9. They are currently on holidays down in Brisbane in the CX9.
I was waiting for the brand new model to come out and I think it looks OK in person, but I have ready plenty online about it been very sluggish/underpowered. It's built on the 300 series chassis, but has the Hilux 2.8L 4 cylinder single turbo engine in it. I will try and test drive one this days off in Mackay, if not will have to be next time as there are none available at my local dealer here for sometime they told me. If it's crap, then I might just stick to the plan and purchase a 3L pre-DPF Kakadu again. That or step into an early 2024 Kakadu, with DPF.............but no Ad-blue. We will see what happens, no rush. Nicole driving a 2011 Toyota Corolla now.
Hi mate, I test drove this car in Mackay a few days ago. It's the V6 turbo diesel model. Are these crappy engines?? Goes like a rocket! But has a knock in the drive shaft under hard acceleration lol I think it's that the driveshaft bearing job in that link with all the common faults with this car. I found it hard to get into the drivers seat, I am/was too tall to climb in and out easy, but once I was in there it was ok. I sat in the passenger front, was all good. I sat in the left rear and my head was hitting the roof, but leg room was OK. Overall a very nice car and I ended up contacting the buyer and told him thank you very much, but we will pass on it. I never mentioned the knocking noise to him, but I told him that it's hard to get in and out of it. Wife got in there ok, she's slightly shorter than I am. He keeps messaging me and said he will offer me "special discount" if I buy the car lol. He barely speaks any English and he owns a ladies nail shop in the big shopping centre in Mackay. Thanks for the help fellas, but I will give it a miss I think.
I test drove the brand new Prado Kakadu in Mackay a few days ago also. Very disappointed. They are definitely sluggish as ****, the batteries in the back and the heavier chassis is the main reason and the ****ty underpowered 2.8L turbo diesel engine is not suited for this car. The car gets to 60 km/h ok, but then runs out of puff after that. Fully load with full tank fuel, family and my luggage, this would barely overtake anything on the highway/overtaking lanes. Other **** part, engine turns off at the lights and aircon goes hot of course. But there is the button in the cab you have to press everytime to turn this function off. You would get used to it, but still. Stupid! Aircon was freezing, but fan speeds are really noisey especially at full speed. And middle vents are too low, aimed high they barely hit my chest which sucks because I like the fan to blow on my face. Centre console lid doesn't open up 90 degrees, gets to around 80 degrees, so you have to lean forward and in to get something out of there. Stupid! And the centre console chiller chiller box is smaller than the last model, can only fit maybe 4x cans of drink in there. Maybe a 600ml bottle of water won't fit because it's too tall and the chiller box is too shallow. Stupid! Glovebox opens up and it just misses the Wife's knees by around 10mm. That's how tight the front cabin area is and that was with the seat all the way back. Stupid! Plenty of head room in the front, but I sat in the back and my head was touching the left rear roof like the Macan the day before. Stupid! No DVD player in the roof or headrests for a $110K "top of the range Prado" The 300 series Sahara has 12" screens built into the back of the headrests! Stupid! Rear seats are not level with the floor in the 3rd row. They folded down seats are raised up, so boot space is smaller now and the seats are electric either like the old model. The saleswoman told me a lot of familes are not buying them because Mum has trouble lifting the pram higher in the back of the new Prados so they are not buying them. And shopping "will be harder to lift up there" apparently lol. Stupid!! They put the spare tyre underneath the back end now, so only one smaller fuel tank. The batteries live under the rear seats in the 3rd row. They come with the 10 year warranty she told us. Overall it was OK, drove beautiful. Steering nice and light, no rattles or noises, but lots of little things annoyed me. When I go back to Mackay next time, I will test drive it again to confirm 100% if we really want one. I only had a 10 min drive or less because I had to catch a plan ride home. The first 2000 or so of these that landed into the Country were already pre-sold, but the salesman woman told me they have plenty available in all the different spec models because they are giving their deposits back to customers who have test driven these cars and since changed their minds.
Yes, it is smaller than you think.. Yes it goes… make sure you get discount for next ten years for your pedicure
https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1984-porsche-911-carrera-manual/SSE-AD-18096124 this seems like good value .
Nice colour combo but a South African import with aftermarket wheels. A C3.2 with a genuine 150k km should not need a resto. Has no a/c either which is a deal breaker for me, it would be unbearable to drive in Sydney traffic. I’ve been using mine as a daily driver last couple of weeks, hasn’t missed a beat in the hot weather Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cheers man, I thought you said don't get the diesel? I must have mis-understood you? Here are some pics, cool car for the money. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Car is a good size, interior smaller than it looks yes. Flies! And the car is priced well and he wants to give me a special discount on top. Maybe I should take him up on the offer AND ask for a 10% discount when I get my nails done next time.
