God I miss the old MMI interface in my Huracan. Everything was right there. No fumbling around. Loved the jet fighter cockpit vibe.

I have the EVO so the first row of buttons are still there and the start ignition but between that is a touch screen. The only change i would make is to have a physical volume knob. the touch screen is easy to use for the rest and nice to have apple car play up on when needed

I also had an EVO and hated the new interface compared to the old one. UI was poor and it ruined the jet fighter cockpit look to me.

I had the Performante Spyder, worked great. Then I got a Huracan Evo (I think?!) Spyder to run around in one summer recently, and WTF…that stack screen could not be seen with the top down, couldnt change the volume for navigation. Total fail. Engine was all you really need TBH!

yes i have coupe so i can see fine. volume for navigation is in a sub menu to change. i'm generally against screen but i thought they integrated this one well in the dash i thought it really modernized it a bit and made it look less dated.

what i can't stand is the screens that seemed added on like in the MC 20 or lotus where it looks like they pasted a screen in there because half way through production they realized everyone else was doing it. i'm not sure any of these screens are going to age well but neither will i lol

Easily fixed with this multifunctional volume contoller. Agree, should have been stock but such is life, not a huge deal to sort out. Definitely recommend.

I would never drill a hole in my car for that - ever. It also looks to be a good reach down out of sight on the left side of the wheel as well. Also, that screen is in a terrible position because you have to look down while you're driving to do almost anything. There was no place else to put it and Lambo felt they had to keep up with the Joneses because others were doing it.

Unless the control is on the steering wheel, reaching down or over is how its always been.
The controller can be positioned wherever you want really - personal preference - doesn’t need to be central - just wherever it works best for the person using it. The cf plate which is drilled is relatively inexpensive and can be replaced anytime so my dealer advised, so no big deal there. The main objective is to actually have control over the volume and any other function you wish to have made available using the knob. Its basically got provision for as many functions as there is lights on the controller. Like all buttons and knobs, stalks etc, they all become familiar to use without taking eyes off the road. Its certainly made things easier - definitely worth while ive found, but again to each their own.

Yep sure do. Many lambos have them now im told. I had mine done along with all the sound upgraded at same time prior to collection. Did valve controller too. I just wanted the car fully work ready. Very happy with the outcome - highly recommend.

Figured out how to recline the racing seats, huge improvement in comfort and usability.

I’ve never had to do that in any Ferrari before.

A month into the 296 and a few hundred miles and without the doubt the car has impressed me much more than expected. Particularly now that the seat is fully reclined and I fit much better. Funnily, that adjustment has also mostly corrected my glare issue, as the recumbent angle must align my sight with the windshield properly to eliminate it.

Little things that you notice after a while, like the way the leather on the steering wheel feels in your hands. Which due to the padding or different kind of leather than used elsewhere (I don't know exactly) is phenomenal. These make a big difference. I'm getting used to the UI. It's not great but I understand how it works now. If it was a little bit more reactive it would be intuitive. Perhaps that happens down the road with software updates. Who knows.

But regardless, this 296 is a triumph. I'm smitten. I love it. Testing driving the car is not enough. It's a really special ownership experience.

Depends on the styling, performance, and price of the VS. I don't really want to spend $700k for a fully spec'd VS but I think that's what it will be. The performance improvement will likely be marginal at best. But let's wait and see.
