I know they use other bodies for testing, but if the car is, in fact, a traditional sports car, why would they be using this mule? I’ll of course reserve judgement until the final design, but Ferrari bringing in [ex Apple design chief] Jonny Ive to aid the design makes me think this will be some sort of weird tech hatchback than a super car.

Hopefully shell body but may be making a 'lower cost' or 'entry level' cousin of the Purosangue

Jony and Marc. Which is bizarre for Ferrari to bring in outside designers like that. I’m wondering if Manzoni just didn’t want to design an ev, or if he even suggested seeking outside help.

Looks like they are using a Maserati or Alfa platform for testing. I wouldn't be to concerned.

That said, Ferrari is rapidly approaching mass production status. Secondary market will plummet, (not like it already isn't). Too many cars. Seems like everything from the 488 on up are tanking in value.

I am glad they’ve worked their range back to five cars now. They had upwards of 12 about a year ago.

if it is a hatch then I might actually get one for tax reasons

I think it's unlikely though as the rumoured price was pretty nuts - iirc 600k euros+

True. And nobody's going to be excited about finding one of these in a barn 40 years from now. All electric vehicles are essentially fungible and disposable, regardless of the badge on it.

Don’t let the infotainment-rage-and-competitive-victimhood Olympics steal your sunshine—Ferrari still knows how to put a smile on your face. Let’s break it down like a pit crew after a red flag.

Post-Fiat takeover (yes, that’s nearly 60 years of drama), Ferrari’s been playing a double game: mass market and special edition royalty. This one? Mass market. If they’re cranking out over 10,000 units, it’s about as ‘rare’ as influencers in Monaco. Slap on all the carbon fiber you want, it’s still not exclusive enough to make the purists faint.

Ferrari didn’t just lose its “purity badge” yesterday—the 2+2s and the Inter already had the traditionalists muttering, "Is nothing sacred?" And now? SUVs are apparently the horseman of the Ferrari apocalypse. Did the Cayenne ruin the 918 or the Blazer a C8. or Explorer vs. GT40.

Did the Urus vs. hurt or help the Revuelto or argue MB should cancel the G-Wagon even though they make The One? (I don't get it.)

    Development costs $$$.

Ferrari hasn’t shut down the hype train just because they’re cashing in on SUVs (or EVs.) They’re still rolling out SPs, F80s, 296s, and SF90s, and if you’ve got the funds and the finesse, trust me, there’s a spot with your name on it. Don’t like this one? That’s fine. No one’s twisting your arm to park it next to your Roma—which you probably will have to buy.

And let’s not rewrite history: the Purosangue was a grand slam that paved the way for this. It wasn’t the end of Ferrari; it was a brilliant business move.

Are we really pretending the McLaren W1 is ruined because McLaren is making an SUVs? Did that ruin their Constructors championship? Or that Aston Martin fans are chucking rocks at the Valhalla because the DBX 707 exists?

Ferrari knows exactly where the cash is, and they’ll take it with a smile. No need to clutch pearls, light torches, or retire your Scuderia flag just yet. It’s all part of the ride—buckle up.

    **
Now if you *really* want to be outraged, let's talk the mistakes we made in F1 last year that we missed the championship by just 14 points...I'll happily whine with you. (unless you blame the Purosangue.)

This is not a dream. It is a nightmare. The brand has lost its way. EV garbage. 6 cylinder supposed hypercars. Spaceship designs. Gizmo oriented interior. SUV madness. Sad to see

I think it's Hot. It will look perfect next to my Prius and Tesla. I checked the "Uglify" option. It cost me an extra $350k and it's the ultimate flex. I have so much money with my Crypto and Bay-area startup stock options profits that I can PAY EXTRA to make my car UGLIER THAN YOURS! It says "I have so much money I over compensate by driving the ugliest car that Ferrari makes!"

Yes. Shouting is intended for effect.

Vasseur is doing a tremendous job right now after the Binotto clown show.
It was a great achievement to be in contention for WCC at Abu Dhabi considering where the team was in 2023..
