Interesting to see the one who frantically wrote posts of book chapter length in this thread is the same one who did in SF90s thread. Geez, @Fortis , are you really that easily triggered, insecure and intolerant of different opinions, i.e. woke? @rsguy wrote his opinions and you wrote yours. But when you felt you needed to write 10x longer focusing on ad hominem attack of him, it says way more about you than him. You know that right?

Guys, recieved my 296GTS this Satuirday (F'n finally!) and surprisingly it has the, as the dealer called it, "upgraded 2025 steering wheel". It has more buttons now and I do have the volume and track control back behind the steering wheel. Climate control is easy accessible due to a 'slider bar'. I have not owned a 296GTB so I can't tell what the differences are. I test drove one wel over a year ago, so I don't vividly remember what the differences are. But suposedly this new steering wheel has several upgrades. Perhaps some can explain a bit more.
Anyway, Ferrari are making a comeback to more traditional controls!

ForeverNA, your screen name seems vaguely familiar, I must’ve triggered you in the past and now you felt the need to cheerlead for rs in order to get some vindication and you are calling me insecure LOL

Sorry to disappoint but I am not triggered, rejecting blatant misinformation does not equal being intolerant or accepting other’s opinions, why would an incorrect opinion be accepted as fact? In what world does that make sense, all I have done is corrected him and asked him to back himself with facts, it seems normal to me.

Spreading misinformation on boards where members come to seek true and legitimate facts is counterproductive but you already know that and yet decided not to care, you don’t even know what your protégée was talking about and passing on as fact all you care is that you got your opportunity to take a jab at me, that’s fine, I am ok with whatever helps your mental health.

Also what’s with both of you calling me woke? I am really confused, in reality I am the least woke person one could come across.

Back to regularly scheduled programming, anyone have any thoughts on how much Ferrari might turn the wick up on the forthcoming 296VS?

All I can tell you guys is having taken a Roma coupe for a several hour test drive, I was very impressed with the driving dynamics. I thought it a bit more "tossable" than the 812. A bit friendlier to really lean on. I have a feeling on a shorter, more technical track, the Roma would be in deed quicker. But on a longer track, where higher speeds play more into it, I would imagine the mighty V12. I still say the 812 GTS is one of the all time great Ferraris because it's just so lovely to drive and even with the horrible GPF, it sounds great, goes great, looks great. But dont sneeze on the Roma. It's also great drive- but to me- the heart of a Ferrari should be the V12. We can have other engines also, but the flagship should be the 12. Anyway we are here to talk 296 VS which has the "piccolo V12" and- the truth is- it's not quite the same- but not as far off as you might think. The 296 is awesome. My own wish is they would have not placed so much obvious emphasis on the e stuff. The e stuff should be there as go faster tech, like turbos. But thats just my take.

    Carry on.

I called it a while ago at 900 CV - take the V6 to 700, and the E drive to 200 - maybe slightly less at 890.....

Saw a Roma in person and bought one on the spot. Absolutely beautiful car in person. Got rid of it after 4 months. Without going into details I couldn't deal with random blackouts, screens freezing and other electronic glitches. I miss that car it was an awesome spec. A good analogy would be a girlfriend where things didn't work out.

I will have a tough time letting mine go - not sure what could be better but for its replacement - we will see.
Look forward to 296 - only few 100 miles due to weather but with spring around the corner or ship it south to enjoy. I think the hybrids are insane works of engineering even played with the SF90 in the snow - what a hoot!

Prefer guys share experiences, best part of coming here vs depreciation haptics and mechanicals.
At least we get to hear some seat time experiences :) drive em!
The e-stuff in the 296 is what makes it - Ferrari has a special sauce. The VS will be insane!

Is that confirmed? My money is the challenge powertrain which isn't a hybrid.

I can't say I have any concrete substantiation. However, a common theme is that the challenge cars and the road cars are becoming more and more intertwined. The Pista had the Challenge engine (or as close as you could get with the legalities a road car faces).

I just can't see them having only the challenge cars having a non-hybrid layout, and not adapting that to a road car.

I believe they will throw a version similar to that engine in, but it's certainly a hybrid. The mules are running around Maranello everywhere with the Hybrid stickers. It would be substantially slower than the standard car without the hybrid. 700 HP from the ICE would make sense, which is what the challenge car makes. Plus the 165 from the electric motors. I wonder how much weight they can get out of the car. If 100kg can come out that small power bump would be suitable. If they can only get, let's say, 50kg, I'm not sure.

They didn't get any weight, really, out of the SF90XX so there's precedent for them not getting much out.

Just for bragging rights I would say they would push it a touch over the upcoming Temerario, there is enough room below the SF90 so if I were to guess I would say some were between 925 and 950HP?!

XX - add weight due to wing, then add downforce, the XX hp bump is more than they are stating to push 1168 pounds of downforce to run similar to SF90 1/4 mile.
Take off wing on VS - add other aero - curious about downforce numbers - expect some improvement over Pista about 1/2 of XX.
XX extra boost logic - guessing VS has that button as well.
