Hi there - just about to take a 13,750 mile 2013 458 Spider into a local dealership for a PPI.
What are the known issues in these cars? My reading suggests they're fairly bullet proof but one owner did describe needing a wheel bearing replaced. Any mechanical top related issues?

Thanks in advance. Should I pull the trigger, I'll most likely purchase a 2-year added warranty.

TIA. Looking forward to jumping into Ferrari ownership.

P.S. I will search this Forum as well. Just looking for some additional current data.

To me the biggest PITA is electrical gremlins. More than one drive cycle during a test to see if there are any new warning lights, radio stops working, etc after some battery drain.

Leaking shocks, poor seatbelt retraction, undertray missing parts/ bolts, Transmission issues (Rare in later models) Electrical gremlins, TPMS system and sender age, Maintenance history, Pull codes, top usually no problems. Infotainment system funky. f dealer will give warranty you are probably in great shape. Good Luck.

As above plus...I think the number one issue affecting 458"s Battery, battery, battery. Check the age. If more than 3-4 years replace and save yourself some future issues. 458's are especially sensitive to low voltage.

I have a February 2015 build date 458 Spider and the car is bullet proof. I purchased it as the 3rd owner with 5,200 miles and now have 12,800. I replaced the tires a couple of years ago and just last year put in its 3rd battery for peace of mind. Other than annual maintenances there have been no needed repairs. I have continued the extended warranty and plan to keep it in force until it max's out.
