So, the beginning of a new sentence should be with a lower case M for mixing? Get real with yourself. We aren’t writing a thesis paper for our professor at Yale when we type here.
Both of you, stop it! Or I’ll tell Mom. … Oh, and there should be a comma after ‘certainly’. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I would never buy from south florida. But I get it - state inspection and loose laws make shady practices undetected or enforced. The number of small shady lots in this field is high in florida because of the transient nature of the population and influx of new residents. It’s shady all right which is why I only buy from my Ferrari dealer. Pay a premium but it’s safe for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
NO WAY would you get anywhere near Yale....LOL....but neither would I. BTW, it wasn't a new sentence, but guess that gets lost on non-Yale students. You can use any criteria you want to buy cars, I just don't want newbies to get the idea that a state inspection has any value in selection, nor does it count anything towards a proper PPI.
The entire premise of state inspections existing or not was that he was implying that because there aren’t any, that means the dealers don’t need to do as thorough of a job during recon/safety prior to selling and that is just not true…. They are different things completely. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Ony 15 of the 50 states have inspections so please don't tell us only 15 states sell good used cars. I don't believe California ever had an inspection and many that do the inspection is carried out at the front desk. They are so worthless more and more states are abandoning the charade and the few that hang on only do so as a result of lobbying by the auto industry which is the case here in Texas. Used cars good or bad are due only to the business ethics of the dealer involved. Hoping for a government nanny to save you from a bad auto purchase is a level of naivete seldom seen. ***UPDATE. Only 13 states are left with the stupid inspections and Texas finally said no to the auto lobby and has voted to stop inspections in 2025. OOh Raa
These guys are idiots. They have been spamming me with legal threats and I responded with our documented legal notification procedure in our Terms. They have ignored that and have continued to spam me almost daily. It honestly doesn't look like a high paid retained lawyer, looks like some cheap $99 internet type service. Either way they would be responsible, continue to spam, and continue to ignore our documented legal notification process. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/help/terms So every time I get a spam I'm going to post it here. Please give Carrio Motor Cars plenty of attention! From Kashif Khan "I formally demand that this fraudulent content be reviewed and permanently removed within 2 days. I'm a little late to this party, but regarding buying a car from Florida - I will never do it again. In my lifetime I've bought several cars sight-unseen, including my '97 Porsche C2S that I've owned for 26 years, and luckily, they've all gone generally well. But the one and only time I've bought a car from an independent "dealer" in Florida, it was completely misrepresented. Short of a PPI, I did as much due diligence as I could long distance but mistakenly relied too heavily on the dealer's presentation. I wanted to scratch the muscle car itch, so I bought a '69 Camaro SS396 they were selling. Looked beautiful, and it was visually a stunner. What the did not disclose, and they had to know, was it didn't have a 396 engine but rather a 454........and not the hi-po 454, but a plain-Jane 454 truck motor. Florida laws protect dealers, not buyers. To make a long story short, they refused to do anything, and I ended up selling it (with full disclosure, BTW). The dealer was a place called Golden Classics out of Clearwater, now also doing business as Adventure Classics, Inc. Apologies for the digression. I know not all Florida dealers are bad, but there are enough bad ones that the generalization of 'never buy a car from Florida' holds.
What does fraudulent content even mean? Discussing experiences on a forum is fraudulent? Yes, they are idiots and they do scam people.
FYI my personal experience has been great buying cars from Florida at Ferrari Ft. Lauderdale and Curated. Not such a perfect experience the other coast with Cat's.
As a Floridian I highly recommend people only buy from the established well known dealers like Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale, Palm Beach or Champion. There are countless shady “independents” that come and go with the wind. They get in trouble, close shop and then just reopen under a different name. The latest trend for many of these guys now is storage “companies” that also broker cars. I recommend avoiding them all like the plague.
Us Florida dealers are the BEST - don't listen to that nonsense about Florida deals.... however, Carrio is another story.... and sadly, I know them (Father and Son) but I still wonder WHERE they seem to get these 1 off cars, Bugattis, Competizione's, etc etc... seems strange for sure and I've heard some stories and I brought a friend of mine to work there as a saleswoman and another friend is there now selling (or at least he was a couple months ago; maybe he left)-- point is, some things seem 'suspect' but I can't say for sure if anything is bad with them on any consistent basis.
There is some relationship between Carrio and other dealerships, I know that much. For example: I’ve seen numerous carfax reports of McLaren Charlotte cars going to or from Carrio as the subsequent dealer. I wouldn’t buy from Carrio, or by extension McLaren Charolette if I was in the market, that’s what I’ll say.
I have bought 2 cars from McLaren Charolette and both times it was a great experience. I bought one car from Carrio and it was misrepresented. I would buy from Charolette again without hesitation.
