Were I buying a ZR1 (I'm not), I would buy the "base" car. I don't like (or need) all the wings/splitters that are added on. No doubt (IMO) there are clumsy styling angles to the C8 Stingray/eRay/Z06/ZR1 which, IMO, with all the tacked on stuff, exacerbate the weirdness. As a long time Corvette owner, I think my base C7 Stingray (with a manual) is a much prettier car. My C8 Stingray is a base car and I think it looks a lot better without all that stuff (Z51 rear spoiler/splitter) tacked on. But I'm old... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Went saw the new Hysteria Purple tonight on a Z06. Very neat color. I am glad it isn't overly metallic. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’ve always liked Vettes, always. I had a C6 and the C6 chassis is under one of my pro touring cars. I also prefer the subtly of the car without the bolt ons. The little tight spoiler that’s like a lip and a nice classy set of subtle wheels is the ticket. Personally I prefer the front engines vettes too. A brand new quad black C8 Z pulled up beside my quad black 488 at the shell station this summer, the only thing it had that I didn’t like was that raised spoiler that I don’t like the profile of. The dude was classy, successful and secure. Conversation (about his car only) was pleasant and complimentary, But there was a definite understanding, without any mention of it at all, that my 488 (and I guess whatever he thought me), seemed to loom over the moment somehow. I’m not tryna blow hard about Ferrari’s being superior constantly here on this C8 thread but Jesus that C8 encounter made me very proud of my car.
That’s the same spoiler this dude had on his car. Personally, for my taste anyways, this piece really detracts from the c8
I am really re-thinking about getting the big wing. The ZR1 wing is probably twice(?) as big as the Z06 wing. Wife hates it.
^^^ If you’re going to seriously track the car, get the aero package. A couple of track days a year? Base car imo. 1,064hp will get you plenty of thrills, aero or not
Glad it didn't have a heavy flake in it. Purple with black interior with red stitching and brake calipers
I’m not sure I’ll get the ZR1. I don’t think it adds anything to the enjoyment having 400 hp over the Z06. The Z06 is quick enough for what I use it for which is nice weather, top down cruising around and enjoying the sky/sound. if I was to get a ZR1, I’d get the base model for the better ride quality. I wouldn’t bother with the wings.
That was one of the first choices until I saw the habanero in person and really bright, almost neon-like. Also, the perforated seats appear "dirty" a lot on the habanero. I wanted the red seats too but that may be too much.
Its definitely more blue than purple, especially underneath the dealership lights. The color is also pretty flat and not metallic.
I'm thinking white with those cool blue wheels might look nice. Also temped to get the yellow because its such a great version of yellow.
Seems like that auction was pre-arranged. Really quick hammer...I think other folks were ready to out-bid Rick (or at least try to).
