It seems that the older ICE Ferraris can for the most part be rebuildable for a great long time and hold some value. If these EV models need their special batteries or unique electronics serviced in the future; are these then not worth collecting?

Ferrari has already made more efficient batteries for the LaF, so at least the halo cars won't be left behind.

As reporter earlier in this forum, the LaF replacement battery cost $32,000, but is no longer available. I would think as EV's become more brevelant there could be battery rebuilders that could take up the challenge and help preserve these great cars.

    So which is it?

Ferrari offers no replacement for the LaFerrari (improved or otherwise) or
Ferrari offers an improved battery for LaFerrari?

There is already a cottage industry of EV battery rebuilders for Tesla and other EVs. Feels like it will become highly commoditized over time and will not be an issue. That should relieve anxiety with regard to longevity of the vehicle, but also add anxiety as to whether the car can retain any value/differentiation from one another.

Beats me. But unfortunately, most of the development costs are already behind them. As much as I'd love to see them abandon the launch, I'd guess that it will be more profitable (or at least less unprofitable) to sell what they can sell.

they can sell lots easily with the following sentence

"you'll move up a notch in the pecking order if you buy the EV"

they'll use the game to shift cars, whether this will be a step to far remains to be seen

given that they are apparently having to go much further down the list of potential buyers to shift the f80, i am not sure how much longer this ruse will succeed.

They will have to crank out a couple few thousand just to save face with the media to whom they have committed multiple times this car will be introduced in 2025.

    You can expect :

    1. Over 1,000 bhp
    2. Under $500k usd
    3. Ferrari saying they will make them in “very limited quantities” ( no specific number given … ever ) for “special clients” due to alleged “production capacity constraints of this new technology platform” and “supply limitations of our technical partners” lol

The reality is that there will be a certain customer segment, so hypnotized by being part of "La familigia Ferrari" who are going to praise the EV and all its gimmicks to the moon and back, and anyone against the project thus must hate the brand. Elkann, Vigna and the rest of the Maranello oompa loompas know this and absolutely count on it.

If the Ferrari EV at 500K didn't have enough issues already. Now that US has killed the EV issues things are much worse. If others use common sense and follow suit its basically dead in the water

    Here is what I believe:

I believe that the Ferrari EV is unlikely to be an organic sales success. I believe they will ending up shifting a similar quantity as the Portofino … to the same type of customer who would actually buy a Portofino and say thank you for the allocation.

I think you’re right. They are going to get some takers who are actually woke buyers who have quaffed the green Koolaid. They will get some buyers who are just going to hold their nose and buy it to score points on Ferrari’s VIP algorithm. They will get some buyers who like the hypercar performance for way less money equation.

I also believe that Ferrari is going to make sure it looks pretty good actually. I wouldn’t bet against them in this regard. It’s too important of a product to risk laying a design egg. And it’s going to be a 0 to 60 in 2.5 second vehicle so it’s actually going to be a pretty neat product for those who aren’t hell bent on internal combustion power.

It's been designed by Apple not Ferrari and the Mute look very much like a Tesla Model Y. Its basic shape is already there, that's not going to change. Portofino at least had some class and style. Then there is the 500K asking price. I think it will fail short of the Portofino sales numbers.

I think it’s safe to say that the TESLA Y / Truncated Levante bodied mule they’ve been trotting around is just a very high level of camouflage and the real car will look absolutely nothing like it. I believe this mule just tests components and batteries etc.

Bit late in the game if that were the case given its launch later in the year. could be wrong but past history suggest otherwise
