I understand the need for precision, but the steering is almost too light. Maybe they need to double-wishbone all their cars to add some meat to the steering.

    I guess you've never driven a TR in a parking lot ;).

Try a Maserati Quattroporte, that’s even lighter. My FF feels a lot more solid.

Personnally I would never complain about a "too light" steering - that's the purpose of a power steering, it's up to the driver to control the wheel. I would also like a very direct steering (I absolutely loved the power steering of the old Citroen CX, which so many hated).

    Old
Old as in the earlier 70s models, or the CX as a whole?

You didn't indicate a time frame. I would agree that very modern cars are way too wussified -- eliminating the clutch pedal is huge wussification ;).

All CX (1975 to 1991 for the last wagons) with power steering had the same "DIRAVI" inherited from the Citroen SM, just increasing the lock-to-lock wheel turns from 2 to 2.5. It was very light (although it became less light with the car speed); it was also (almost brutally) self-centering, so in spite of its lightness, a firm handling of the steering wheel was needed.

I hate the soft feeling in modern Ferrari steering, as mentioned love the Testarossa feeling or 328. That said Ferrari has gone softer because of its main clientele and main use cases. I had a 991.1 GT3 and the steering was perfect, for me.

You guys are missing the point.

These aren't sports cars anymore. They are all GTs.

The size of all modern cars shocks me.

Anyone remember the Aston Martin Lagonda? We used to say it was enormous.
Today its just a few centimeters longer than a Cadillac SUV you see everywhere.

When you make a huge car with big wide tires in a car meant to drive every day, its going to end up with steering like we have now.

When the steering is so light that it becomes twitchy, there is WAY too much boost.....one of the many things I did not like about the 458.

Same goes for cell-phones. I use an iPhone 5 sized cell. People accuse me of having a ‘small’ phone. I’m like “it’s not small. It’s normal. You’re the one with the giant device.”

That, and functions like lane departure/lane change assist require steering-by-wire.

Really hoping the “Machina” rumours are true. Ferrari’s Valouresque manual only machine.

Who wants difficult steering? My 360, my old (sold it) 2012 Qporte S, and my 599 all have wonderful steering. Nice and light, but lots of feedback. Why would I want worn out arms?
