I have been a looooonnnnggggg time lurker on here (20+ years..wow). I have owned many sub-exotic high performance vehicles (numerous M-cars, AMGs, an Audi RS, a Shelby, GT-R…etc) but never a Ferrari. Now I am the proud owner of a 2020 Ferrari Portofino (Bianco Avus/Rosso Ferrari) that I purchased CPO from the local dealer. The weather here is not great so I will have to wait and take pics over the weekend.

I like to personalize my cars and have been reading through posts about exhaust mods. I think that will be the only thing I do. This may be sacrilege, but my wife’s Levante with the same F154 family of V8 engines, may actually sound a little better to my ear (could be just the difference of flat plane to cross plane cranks).

Exhaust will definitely help with the sound. If budget allows - definitely spring for sport cats & an "X" pipe. This will require a tune. This is what I did to my Cali. I retained the original rear mufflers - pulled/capped the vacuum lines. Really woke up the sound.

Enjoy your new car. Attach some pictures when you get the chance.

Thanks for the feedback! Since the car still has the factory extended warranty, I like that peace of mind. I am sure the dealership might give me issues if I touch the cats and do a tune. But I was looking at the x-pipes out there. There seems to be no cutting necessary. Keeping the valves open is a good idea.

Thanks! I love the red leather with the stitching and black piping. I probably would have been apprehensive too just based on a description… but it just works.

Congrats! Love the red on white. Always wanted to try that. I also never heard the term "sub-exotic" so thanks for that!

I would get a nice dark ceramic tint on those windows first thing!

I assume South FL cops don't care about tint. They don't here in the desert unless you're being a punk.

Great looking rig. I bought a 2019 Porto about 3 years ago and daily drive mine. Only issue was the passenger display crapped out but was replaced under my bumper to bumper warranty I kept up. I’ve racked up about 8,000 miles under my ownership so far and love the sound of the glorious engine/ exhaust with no mods. Enjoy your new ride , best Kirk. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I went with Tubi mufflers, a Kline x-pipe,and a Capristo exhaust valve controller: two enjoyable sound levels but not too loud. The valves work differently on the Portofino so you can't just unplug; you need a controller like Capristo.

Thanks! Not a huge trip, but I was thinking of heading across Alligator Alley to Naples to take in the Cars on 5th Concours.

You might want to consider joining the Ferrari Club of America(FCA), Miami, Broward or Palm Beach chapter. We have some great events on weekends about once/month. We all get together and drive to great venues to socialize and have a good time. Recent events have included a day of horse racing at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, a Stone Crab run to Everglades City and an evening of art, food and festivities for Art Basel.

I can get you the contact info for the Miami, Broward or Palm Beach chapters. My place is in Hallandale Beach but I joined the Miami chapter due to friends in the area.

I recommend the cars on 5th show. Definitely a more exotic car vibe but they do have some older muscle cars as well. I'm flying in to attend. Would love to see your car if you drive it. If interested - I'll get you my contact info.

I started off on American muscle cars (first car was ‘67 Mustang 289 coupe…2nd car was a ‘68 Mustang fastback 390). I just love cars. Anyway, it would be great to meet up in Naples. I am also going to see if any of the Miami/Broward people are doing a drive over as well.

    Hey, Tom,

Congrats on your purchase. I too have a 2020 Porto and use it as my daily drive, except when the roads get salted. If you want more noise ;) put the car in Manual mode and keep it on 2nd gear in town or third on the motorway. enough torque not to need changing and the noise level goes way up. But I do get told off by the wife  for being an asocial bonzo.
