I'm impressed most things are sold out though, old school users might not like it here, but they are doing well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
“Sold out” like lots in a new development sales office? I really wish I had a time machine to show you the scope of what it used to be. Last year was decent don’t get me wrong but once you’ve seen the pinnacle it’s hard to not miss those days. Other than the very small front lawn last year it was all “newer” models. Sadly I think I’ve become jaded living here because I can go to Supercar Saturdays and see hundreds of exotics for free once every month. So much so that all the modern Ferraris seem commonplace.
I remember that party, a very nice one and the setting was superb, well done. I went once or twice in, I think, 2000; GTO #3445GT was there, having just been bought by Charlie A. 5573GT looking good!
Yes. The 275 GTB, 288 GTO and #5573 will be there. Although I believe #5573 is for display only and not being judged.
Unfortunately we lost the track portion awhile ago. Moroso (PBIR) closed and was "sold" to be converted into an Amazon distribution center. For some reason that never happened and it's been vacant since. It just came back up on the market: https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/17047-Bee-Line-Hwy-Jupiter-FL/34504639/ IMO that was the last nail in the coffin for events as we used to know them. Now there are zero track/racing related events really. Everything now is "VIP" focused with velvet ropes and red carpets. Paganis and the like get flat beaded around to be displayed like some precious Faberge Egg to the next generation of wannabe influencers and networkers. I'm afraid ultra low mileage, pristine garage queens are what's "in" at the moment.
Yes I knew Moroso was gone but what about Homestead road course and that club track in Miami where the CC went at least once? Actually I just called the advertiser for the Moroso property ad you posted and spoke with a very articulate guy: yes it can still be used as a track, zoning should not be an issue as county is keen, very valuable land that will be a solid investment so be sure to tell major collectors at concours tomorrow; maybe someone will want to buy it .
The agent said last contract was $78M, make offer, better deal in case of quick transaction. Land will only rise in value (he would say that but it is south Florida so yes), whatever is made of it, he suggested to use it as a track for a few years, (hopefully many!) and then sell.
Correct. The green (verde medio) 288 GTO is 56773. The green (verde medio) 275 GTB is 08545. Marcel Massini
Image Unavailable, Please Login The breakers people this year are def less friendly. Years past we could go walk by the trailers unloading, this year - kicked out bc it can be dangerous. Load of ****. Another security dude told me my camera was professional (really isnt) and that i could not use it. I said i used it for years, no issue. He then says, "I am telling you it is and before this conversation goes sideways, you need to put it away". Had to go talk to head of security to get this cleared out. Ridiculous.
I heard similar experiences from a few other people as well. Will be interesting to see if they completely shut down bystanders/photos on the main drive tomorrow morning. In the past there was a line of young guys and photogs camped out there to film and enjoy everything driving in. Something tells me they aren’t going to allow that so they can force everyone to get at least a GA ticket and milk every penny they can out of the event. What will also be interesting is to see if they allow all the other “brokers” who bring cars to the general parking lot as “guests” to try and leech off the event traffic as a means to sell their used cars.
