    Absolutely. The higher the RPM the greater the stress. However, FYI, my manual says 4 yrs for belt changes for the time factor. I'm at 11, 14k miles. But you know how I drive. ;) Hell, 1/2 the time I'm rolling down hill with the clutch disengaged. :D

    Depends::
    a) if the same valve train is used, yes, stress increases with the square of speed.
    b) if titanium valves are used, the moving parts of the valves can run 30% higher due to being ½ the weight.
    ...{{might have to change the cam tappet buckets to titanium too.}}

    Yes, but the valve springs may need to be stiffer (heavier) to accelerate the valves shut in shorter time at higher speed. Lots of variables here. Those same increased spring forces need to be overcome when opening the valves. So lighter valves at higher acceleration? Details,. detail, details.

    Anyway, does it really matter. That 10k engine isn't in the car presently, right?

    What did the challenge cars rev to?

    It appears in the description the engine was removed some time before 2004, which is when a new owner is reported, hence no other person other than Schumacher or the shop who maintained the car, which is named btw, knows.

    My guess is it either blew up or replaced for practicality. Might have been running on race gas if much higher compression (to make 500 hp) or shortened belt intervals.

    Toda does produce a 500hp kit for the 355, but is it practical for a road car? If one has constant access to race gas, sure. It doesn’t rev to 10k either, but it does have beefier belts.

    “A letter shows that the official Ferrari service centre in Monaco serviced it for him until September 1997. Then, although it is not known how long Weber Management owned the F355 GTS, nor how long it was used by Schumacher, in May 2002 the car came into the possession of Pierre Valentin of Mougins, France, and later Christopher Allen of Vallauris.”

    Apologies if this car was already mentioned above. I didn’t take the time to research it.

    This will cross the block at Barrett Jackson this weekend on Saturday.

    1994 Ferrari F355 GTS. Nice spec. Carbon seats, Gated manual and the non airbag wheel, painted roof. Looked good from a few feet, but once you got up close, it had a little to be desired. The rear buttress had some wonky stuff going on. I don’t know if that is just the normal cracking or if someone tried to repair it and did a poor job. But it doesn’t look great. This was the first F355 I’ve seen in person with the Carbon seats and I have to say I loved the look. In pictures the backs looks so wide across, compared to say the Porsche Carbon buckets. But seeing them in person…..I loved the look. I’ll head back this weekend and can grab some more pictures. I forgot to look at the mileage. And interestingly the Barrett Jackson listing is missing that info.

    Get a closer pic of the back carbon portion of the seat if you do go back. This is a euro spec car btw.

    The seats don’t appear to be original to the car. They appear to be the “narrow” sized version, which were introduced later in 98-99. They are rare. Original 94-97 carbon seats would look wider.

    The narrow versions look more proportionally appropriate to my eyes for the petiteness of the 355, hence the reason I looked specifically for them.

    The seat belt buckle is the dead giveaway. The weave on the carbon would confirm it. So would the dated tag on the very bottom underside of the seat.

    seats are indeed not original to the car, i bought that car in 2022 imported in from Berlin, sold it to a "dealer/collector" as IS - along with my Personal 355 (which i just bought back a couple of weeks ago)

    The car is a Euro car so its in KM and i think it was at 160K km i do'nt exactly remember, it did need some work , not sure if the work was done or not

    Trolling the auction as a result is out of order, you asked, he declined and explained why, so just move on if you are not happy about it, are you really claiming to be a buyer of a car out of Italy given where you are actually based.

    I read the exchange. I see what you mean. Heck, I'm from the generation before there was FAX. We only had dial phones and party lines and I have no problem making a video with my phone and posting it on YouTube. :D

    Obviously Faux_40 doesn't have a clue as to who you are.

    ummm ya i'm really claiming to be a buyer for a car in italy, wont' be the first or the last time i've imported a car from Europe...So your "Trolling" BS statement is whats out of line here...i was genuinely interested in buying that car and have been waiting it for it to get live and nicely asked the seller for the needed info several times (info which would have helped his overall auction as well, not just info that would have benefited me) .a seller refusing to post videos because he doesn't have time to make a YouTube account is certainly not someone i'd do any sort of business with...can't even imagine after sale and import if you ask him for anything.

    Your reply just confirms my statement.

    You are buying the car not the seller, he offered to whatsapp you a vid showing you everything you required, but you claim you are prepared to loose the car just because he would not bow down to your additional demands, so you leave a stroppy reply on his auction listing, then also come on this thread to diss the sale even more.

    Seeking to talk down the price during the auction I guess in the hope it then puts other potential buyers off before you make a low ball bid at the end, and it's hardly a trailer queen rarity that requires buying so far afield.
