I have a 1/18 Tecnomodel Ferrari 246/256 that has suffered damage to the steering wheel with the top 1/3 of the wheel having snapped off . Do any of you experienced model builders have any idea where I can get a replacement part? I have contacted the manufacturer but I would like to fix it as soon as possible. I have looked on EBay without any luck. Any help is appreciated.

I once requested a part from tecnomodel but didn't have any luck....but i know sowm companies make steering wheels for these cars, and a lot better than the original one...

Do you have the broken piece? I'd glue it back in place and then sand to match.... not easy but possible. if you dont have the part, then I'd look for a mattel 1/18 scale vintage car and take the wheel from that to replace this one. Very unlikely to find just a wheel... tecnomodel are made in china so not sure who the producer is.

    Tom-
I have reattached the broken piece twice with no lasting results...it is very flimsy and unstable to the point that the initial broken piece has now cracked in two while sanding it. I was looking online for a replacement wheel rim but have had no luck finding one in that scale. The model arrived with the steering wheel damage plus a broken mirror and a split windscreen. I fixed the mirror and made a new windscreen but the steering wheel has eluded me. I should have just returned the model to the seller but it is in China and I thought I could handle the repairs myself. Foolish me...

Ugg, that sucks. I feel your pain. I think finding an old Burago Testa rossa diecast and take the wheel from it and with a bit of sanding and paint can make it look close enough best of luck.

The level of detail by Tecnomodel is not much better than cheaper brands, so why not replace it with something like this:
