“The materials are whatever Ferrari had on hand, and the ergonomics are designed for apes with small feet.”
    Fixed it. :p

I remember that 308 liked to chirp gears in the driving scenes in the movie.

In their line "Its sporty and lightweight chassis made it an extremely fast and fun car to drive." I agree with "sporty" and "fun" parts, the rest, I'm not so sure...

Since Masquerade was made in 1988, it gave someone 10 years to install (what appears to be) tweaters in the middle of the door panel, see RH/passenger side.

Oh yeaaahh.... I was wondering what that little spot was. Car still looks fantastic, and gotta say, in the scheme of things, this tweeter isn't terrible.

I remember that movie. He tried to kill a girl by totaling it.

He drove one in a movie a few decades ago and that conveys upon him "Impeccable taste"?

I must have missed part of the conversation.

Well, there's that plus it was a gift to him in the movie. So the girlfriend should be credited with having good taste not him, lol

If you wanted to get technical, it was the Writer (or Producer) that decided the girlfriend character should give Rob Lowe's character a Ferrari, so he/she/they should be credited with having good taste. ;)

I've read the article three times.
Nowhere does it say the car featured in the photos is the same car as in the actual movie (they are just generic stock photos).
The article is just a puff piece that Rob Lowe drove a 308 GTS in a 1980's movie.
Great article.... just 40 years late.

Not to be argumentative, but captions to the first three pictures do say “Rob Lowe and the 1978 Ferrari 308 GTS in the movie ‘Masquerade’"…as opposed to the later interior pics that qualify themselves as “reference photos”.
I mean probably a simple enough task to scan the film for the image of the Ferrari with the balloon bouquet….can’t be too many occurrences of that! :p
Lowe’s character also does a nice powerslide in the 308 - ala Thomas Magnum - in one scene.

Hahahahaha Dave. You're joking right ?

Of course the three photos are of the car in the movie..... they are screenshots of the actual movie !

I was referring the original posters comment that the car looks in showroom condition in the modern interior photos but it doesn't state anywhere that they are from the same car as used in the movie.

LoL.....you never know Mark....it is the interwebs after all....but if my charge today is to bring a smile to the collective group through my ineptness, so be it. :D
(and I really didn't realize you were referring only to the interior shots.):p
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
