    Anyone have a link for front brake pads for a 95 456gt? I’ve heard of pagid and I’ve heard of a Mercedes alternative. What are some economic brake pads we can use?

    Careful - the early and late 456 have different brakes. The early cars have ATE calipers and take Porterfield AP561 front and AP345 rear or equivalent. Different from later cars with Brembo calipers

    Early cars are Motronic 2.7 with no alarm. Later ones are 5.2 and came with three fobs and two keys. All 95s are 2.7, there were no US 96s, and 97s were 5.2. Hydraulic boost for the brakes on 2.7s and vacuum boost for the 5.2s.

    They feel very different under foot if that is what you are asking. Hydraulic being much more progressive and less 'bitey' in feel.

    If you just use it on the street most likely any basic pad will do. I had Pagid pads for track use on the 930. On the street basic ATE pads worked better as they didn’t need any warm up. I put pagid street pads on a 914. It barely stopped.

    Porterfield (we used to sell them) are good pads if your objective is low dust and low price. R4S compound would fit the bill. R4 is more aggressive but takes some time to warm up (and they're not the quietest or lowest dust option)

    If you want to stop the car (repeatedly, from high speed, like on the track), well.... there are other choices. And 'dust' shouldn't be a metric in your decision.
