Pista Spider and racing livery factory invite allocation only.
Ferrari Dealers could not move people up on 296 - fact as I and others tried.
If one places a VS deposit - likely shown CPO on showroom - buy it and hope for VS.
If world falls to 2009 different story - flip side 16M Scud 599GTO struggled, ended up doing well and there were volumes of negative posts here on all three.
Know many people who have tried early bargaining for VS - let's see if one posts a positive result here as I have yet to see one in 60 pages.

you must be in a unique market. It’s similar in Dubai, meanwhile UK brand new 296s are over £100k discounted because buyer didn’t take delivery.

Also 600+ brand new Porsche 911 992.2 in Germany, but 1 year wait in Dubai.

Seems more $$ if cars are moved to markets with high inventory to a wait list but what do I know.

So will you order one if you get an allocation?

Personally I will get an allocation for the coupe; not the spider as I don't meet that criteria but I'm not convinced yet.

I believe a scaled version showing the final exterior of the car.

I have seen the rear of the car with less camo on the rear; it looked like the car had an aero flap system very similar to the 12C.

Not a VIP and have been offered 296 GTS allocations including recently at multiple US dealers including home dealer owning just a V12 Lusso (and not sure that mattered).

As with Porsche, you might need to have a place or reg in their general area for new.

From what I understand though Ferrari sounds like it is tracking customer location more than Porsche, though. For Porsche they just need to reg locally, there doesn't seem to be any central factory tracking by who the customer is or state of residence(s) for "mere" RS allocations.

I am VIP, but have never been offered anything much as far as special series.

Likewise being VIP was meaningless - Ferrari VIP is like Amex Platinum - everyone has one :)

Not a VIP by any means but the dealer I'm assigned to is Dallas and they told me GTB was done and put me on a waiting list for GTS, but told me there was very low likelihood of an allocation. I was in STL and stopped by there and was told no chance, that was all last August. Dallas did later offer me a car that someone backed out on but wanted a premium, I ended up purchasing a 23 GTB from another dealer in October

Does anyone know if having a 296 in the garage is mandatory for the 296 VS coupe allocation?

That's what I was told first but now I hear that owning any F car that is less than 5 year old qualifies as well?

I was told directly that to get a VS you have to have a 296 in your garage. Preference to original owners. If offered a VS you will be offered a GTB VS if you have a 296 GTB and a GTS if you currently have a 296 GTS.

If Ferrari nails the design etc with the VS what will happen is the preowned 296s will increase in value as demand for one increases because folks will be told you must have a 296 to get a 296VS.

So you think the VS will come out, which is typically a very limited run for a VS, people will fall in love and go buy a pre-owned 296 with the hopes of being selected for the VS. By the time that would possibly occur the limited run would probably be over.

I have to disagree and I don’t think it will help increase the value whatsoever. The counter view is everyone that has a 296 and that has been holding it to get the VS will immediately sell their 296 when they either take delivery of the VS or if they find out they weren’t selected for the VS. Thereby flooding the market with even more 296 and lowering values even more.

Patience. We will find out surely (soon) whats the requirement for VS ;)
For now dealers are not 100% certain. Speculation for now...

Yes but I was told to be considered no guarantees - especially in hybrid which is a different segment. It's got an entire hyper club and challenge owners to deal with at the factory offering of allocations.
Have SF90 Spider but got the XX coupe - Spider was factory allocated. .
VS likely be a lot like XX - more units and dealers with more input. For reason (maybe)
The XX helped a chunk of SF90's from hitting the market - VS should mirror that - who knows how heavily but it won't be zero. If there are 2000 VS and 2000 people have to hold their 296 for 12 - 24 months that alone supports the 296 market.
Ferrari adding Puro / electric is going to make the next gen models like 296 harder to receive and limited editions even harder.

I am a VIP customer. But my dealer told me that I needed a 296GTB or GTS in my portfolio to be eligible for a VS. because of my Challneg histroy and being a VIP I am geting a VS Piloti. But I still needed to have a GTS in my stable.
Again, no idea if that's based on Ferrari or the dealer.
My dealer is BTW always short on cars, so it's not like they need to sell me a specific car.
I never needed to buy a Portofino, Lusso or Roma,

I don't think the 296VS will be limited (just like the Pista). I was asked by my dealer today if I want one - and I don't have a 296, although I have an SF90 so clearly "qaulifying criteria" are less stringent = bigger production run

Dealers don’t have the info yet. I wouldn’t think this car will be available to everyone, and I would bet you need a high standing or 296 to be considered. I had 2 812s and didn’t get a comp. Had a $900k sf90 spider and no XX.
