Superformance as it’s plug and play. I will try to enlarge the OEM set and bore it out while I test it out.
It’s been some time since I have updated this thread but over the last 1.5 years the car has been enjoyed and further tinkered with. I was able to secure (at significant cost) a RHD Fiorano Handling Pack steering rack - something I have desperately wanted to improve on the F355 and the correct power steering pump to suit it. The FHP rear suspension arm forks were also sourced and fitted - I now have the entire handling side of the FHP kit with exception to the front sway bar. I can tell you the handling difference compared to stock is really noticeable! It’s a very long story. But essentially someone had to buy a whole car with factory equipped Fiorano package for me to obtain it. If you knew the price you would still stop at the pump haha.
Always on the hunt for the perfect sounding F355, I removed my Tubi Evolution exhaust to fit a Japanese ITO item. The Tubi has a little bit too much drone for my liking but otherwise fitment is way better than a capristo. The ITO is made with artisan like welds and the fitment is perfection. I can report the exhaust has zero drone and sounds simply amazing once the bypass opens! The best I have experienced. Here is a quick video of the sound of the exhaust: https://youtube.com/shorts/MI1YrtAyYjw?si=PiVt0Bk1mRjb2Jx9 In person it is really impressive!
Low down its a much nicer note than Capristo, its still quiet and refined. Has absolutely no drone, and when the bypass opens its so sharp and responsive, the exhaust characteristics suit the nature of the car very well.
It did but seeing as it was a RHD car and the car went to a LHD market (to be stripped of its valuable parts for other cars) I was only able to obtain a RHD specific item being the steering rack.
I see. Don't worry. One will come along. “He that can have patience can have what he will.” Benjamin Franklin
You need a longer tunnel, Elliott I was just about to look at ITO exhaust prices... but then I saw the yen had just gone up by nearly 20% this month (compared to the Aussie dollar).
Is Elliott selling his legendary car???? See "95 GTS" in background... https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/149988104/
After just shy of 10 years of ownership of my dream F355 - it has been sold and left my stewardship. I view it as a completed projected and I ticked off a childhood dream to own and enjoy an F355. The F355 has been a very special part of my life and I have made many memories and learnt so much from the journey. I had been regularly reached out to sell the vehicle and I finally succumbed to part with it for a princely sum. There was nothing left to do with the car that I wanted to and have experienced all facets of ownership including track days, multiple concours showings earning platinum, taking my kids for drives and many many fun group drives with friends. I clocked up 24,000 kms, performed 4 engine out services (3 on my own), installed 8 different exhausts, sourced the unicorn FHP conversion and went over the entire vehicle from top to bottom creating the best condition driver F355 I possibly could. The car will sit amongst some very nice cars in a collection but I hope the new owner will enjoy it on the occasion when it does venture out. Thanks to all who have followed this thread and provided encouragement along the way. The car and myself have come a long way over this period of time. I’ll always be around F355s and might jump back into one eventually. It’s still the Ferrari that ticks the boxes for me - as I can’t quite reach an F50 at the moment. The first day it was mine and the last day it was mine. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, Elliott, someone now owns the perfect F355 GTS. The new owner is very lucky. I learned a lot about my F355 Challenge from this thread and from your posts in other threads. I hope you maintain your presence on this Forum and continue being of knowledgeable assistance to us. Barry
Oh, my, I’m not sure how to react to this news…. For now I’ll say, congratulations and I’m sure it’s going to a good home.
aaaah wooow Elliott so sad and happy for you, I hope you got great price for this beauty. Have been great to have you in 355 world, and I hope you stay in 355 world
Elliot’s work elevated the image of the 355 and I have no doubt in my mind it contributed greatly to today’s valuation of our cars. Elliot showed the world the 355 is worthy of a spot in anyone’s Ferrari collection when one treats and restores her properly. The 355 was never perfect new, but we have collectively brought in new ideas over a few decades to make her better than new while still preserving the original look, feel, and intention. Elliot’s GTS lead the way in this direction and I’m not surprised collectors are knocking on his door for it. It would take years for any newcomer to achieve the same level of presentation, even if he bought a 2k mi car.
