Yeah, I mean it’s okay I guess. But the 12 cylinder of the line, whether she’s ( Yes the current iteration is a she ) at the top of the regular production range or not, shouldn’t be just ok. It’s mid. It’s meh. It’s a bit limp if I’m being candid.

Not as ballsy a package as the 812. And more importantly, not nearly as good as it could have been.

Aston Martin turned the Vanquish into a Ferrari and Ferrari turned the 12C into and Aston Martin. And that sucks. I hate to say it but that sucks.

Well, our 812 (Debi) is quite secure with her name. You will be shocked to hear that I prefer the appearance of the 12C over the Vanquish. (Nothing against the Vanquish, just my preference.)

As for being candid, I am obviously buying the 12C simply because of the badge. :)

Yeah I’m not questioning the purchase decision. I’m not saying the 12C is a tarted up Portofino or anything. It’s a legit car.

It’s just that … is anyone REALLY that stoked about getting the 12C. I think it’s like... Okay. Sure. I’ll come down next week to spec it. Yawn. Ok that’s all done. Eyes meandering around showroom. Let me know when it gets here. Thanks. Good seeing you. Stop off for breakfast after. Goes home and takes a nap.

Ok man we get it: you saw an online review of the Vanquish and reached a solid conclusion about the 12C being "limp" and not good enough. You are more than welcome not to buy one and go buy the amazing Aston instead. But to answer the question from your other post, I am quite stoked with my 12C order and enjoy spending time playing around with specs etc. Everyone has different tastes.

You’re right. Everyone has different tastes. Some people even like McLarens although I can’t for the life of me understand why.

Anyway, to the 12C purchasers, enjoy your order!

I don’t know how you think that. Seems a complete fabrication in your mind. My wife and I had a blast spec’ing the car, and are looking forward to delivery!

Have you ever special ordered a Ferrari? Or any vehicle for that matter?

I understand. And I’m sure some people had a blast speccing a Portofino. Went crazy with TM on em too. To each his own. Respect.

As I said, to the 12C purchasers … enjoy it in good health, as F-chatters like to say, for some reason.

I certainly do miss the unique sonic pleasure from the pre-GPF 812 Superfast. That said, I am excited to pair my current 812 GTS with my future 12C Coupe. I think they will make a great combo.

How many McLaren’s you guys owned? Curious what you didn’t like about your ownership. Mine have been bulletproof and just as exciting as my F cars…they also make my P cars boring ……carbon tub…lightest in the game hands down..once you have owned several brands, they are all the same:)

Nice. Are you planning to do a crazy spec 12c for possibility of keeping it long time?

I was leasing a 570S Spider in Dubai: I didn't like the interior build quality, I didn't like how wide the carbon tub was when the door was open and that I had to "jump over it" to get in the car, I didn't like the fact that my head was touching the roof when it was down but honestly the most annoying thing was that (a) the seat couldn't go back enough for me to be fully comfortable but also (b) on the furthest back position, it would rub against the firewall and make the most annoying sound which could have been avoided if the design was a bit more well thought of. Other annoying things that ruined the experience were stuff like random electrical glitches that would come and go every few days: i.e infotainment system would randomly reboot on its own etc.

The car was fast enough and made all the right noises but the overall experience was nowhere near where I expected it to be. I got rid of it after about 6 months.

You should try a 750s quality is up and much better put together and plenty of head room and leg…. My SF90 spyder I feel cramped head touching ceiling and can’t move seat alway back without rubbing firewall … and my legs are always cramped…one bad experience doesn’t dictate the brand… every brand has issues and you will find people who hate them and love them… sorry yours wasn’t good

Yes, I’m really excited about the car and intend to have in my garage forever. Like my 812 GTS, I opted for an Atelier build, not because it gave me access to anything special, just that the Ferrari designers are truly top notch in helping you arrive at a quality outcome (at least that’s my humble opinion). My GTS is a “classic spec” in Verde Abetone over Cuoio, and I wanted to target more of a “sporty spec” with the 12C, so I went Rosso 1000GP over full Nero Alcantara interior with a dash of yellow accents/highlights. I tried to create a unique, almost fake 812 Comp interior with racing seats in a the square pattern. Mostly, I wanted to create a sharp contrast to my full leather GTS and I think the sea of Alcantara will accomplish that.

Here’s the 812 Comp that inspired the Rosso 1000GP color.

Looking good! I love alcantara- warm in winter(love top down driving!) and cool in summer sun and no slipping around. Rosso 1000GP looks great and painted shields judging by the size- very nice!

So, your blanket statement that everyone ordering a 12C is not excited about it and just buying it for the badge was not accurate? Adjusting perception perhaps? :)

I'm about to buy a pre-GPF 812 SF. However, I think the 12C is a beautiful car and am looking forward to the cool specs you guys go for.
