The wheelbase is too short for a 212 Inter. Any chance it would be 0036M ?
OK, mystery solved. Pic shows the rebodied 0036 M, RHD, photo taken with the 10th owner, Mario Camellini in Modena, 1959. Prior to exporting 0036 M to CA/USA. Plates are from Bologna "BO 103041". Not Brescia. Marcel Massini
I have a number of pictures claiming to be the second body on 0036M which bear no resemblance to this. Is this a third body or are my pictures mis-labelled. Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not my photo so cannot post, Venice registeration will solve this one one day. My presumption is Casarotto owned 0095/S.
That is the second body of 0036 M. All chrome has fallen off......... This pic here shows the remains of the rebodied 0036 M in Northamptonshire UK 2021. Dino Cognolato's Carrozzeria Nova Rinascente in Vigonza near Padova, Italy, re-rebodied 0036 M after 1992 back into a Touring Barchetta. That's when the Vignale body became obsolete. Thank you Marcel. What an incredible difference to the eye all the Chrome, or lack of, makes. And yes I do have all the pictures in your book Ferrari by Vignale.
I don't have a Venice plate, just know Casarotto owned a mystery Vignale in 1953 and the mystery will solve itself sooner or later. If history of 0095/S is well known, then 0099/S might be the best option.

I think that photo was needed for this late set of 166MM homologation papers, and they arranged a used car as no new ones were being built at that time. Don't know when printed exactly, but late 1953 at earliest, eventually much later (1954-56). https://cars.bonhams.com/auction/17302/lot/37/homologation-papers-for-the-ferrari-166/
0095/S ending up in USA may be explained by an age old confusion with this Vignale rebody falsely reported as 0095/S. Body was later removed and put on chassis 0097/S, and one of the owners (John H. Baker) confused things further by thinking he owned 0099/S. As a result we know very little of 0095/S and have absolutely nothing on 0099/S. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Interesting theory but what about the frame ? This Cunningham body needs a shorter wheelbase than a 195 Inter. When and where did they cut the chassis ? Do you agree this Vignale body was first mounted on 0024M ?
Yes, it is 0024M. The chassis was shortened three times it seems, until they finally got it right. The project was passed through several pairs of hands and finally finished for Lord Brocket around 1991. Don't know who did the work but would be surpriced if it wasn't DK-Engineering. So basically at this time there seems to be no way of confirming whether Cornacchia and Ducato cars were one and the same - or two different cars.
