I know there’s a model of Momo or other steering wheel that bolts right in to the 348. I want to change my steering wheel to Alcantara and keep the stock one. What size and model steering wheel in alcantara bolts right in? Thanks!

I believe the momo bolt pattern is consistent so I’d imagine any model will? There’s a dude on here who’s an expert. Let me see if I can find his username.

MOMO has always used 6x70mm bolt pattern.

Basically you could use anything with 6x70mm regardless of brand.

Don't forget to get a resistor for faking the presence of the airbag, else you'll get a airbag light that only a dealer or someone with Ferrari diagnostics equipment can reset.

I got a kit like this which included the wheel, hub, horn button and resistor: https://www.ebay.com/itm/315728686168

Alternatively you can just get a kit like this - you want a 3.3 ohm resistor. I used the kit for the passenger airbag fakery: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FHPJ5G8

momo, OMP, Sparco...take your pick of 6x70mm bolt pattern Alcantara steering wheels in the diameter and dish you prefer.

Order from a reputable dealer. Stay away from eBay...

Right, Sonny. You might be able to fit your OEM Ferrari horn button in the steering wheel you purchase.

It's still good advice for F355 owners, Ivan. :)

Our F355 Challenge cars had their airbags removed so it's no longer a factor in the choice of steering wheels. The F355 Challenge Technical Regulations Manual permits the driver's choice of steering wheels.

This OMP wheel came in the Challenge kit for my car...

Peter Sachs preferred using this momo wheel...

He attached his push-to-talk radio switch to the wheel with Velcro. I replaced his momo wheel with this momo Competition wheel...

I didn't mind drilling a hole in it for my push-to-talk switch.

Sonny, please forgive my digression here. But I've illustrated a few wheels which you might like.

Note how the original OEM horn button fit my current wheel. It's non-functional as my wheel has a quick release hub. The silver ring you see behind it is a 1cm spacer.

Hill engineering has a 25mm wheel spacer that I would recommend , tired of having. your fingernails hitting the dash? this solved my problem, and it looks good.

Ivan's F355 Challenge should have a mandated quick release hub as my car has...

...in which case a 25mm spacer might be a bit to wide.

I had a custom 1cm spacer machined to put my steering wheel at the optimum distance for me...

It does have a quick release wheel, at least according to the posts. I haven't yet had a chance to see it in person as I had it sent directly to Pocono Sportscar since 11 years without a documented timing belt change seemed like long enough to me.

Lots of little and not so little items to sort out. Example: Shame on me for not doing a full PPI but I didn't expect the power steering pump to be missing and replaced with an electric unit that was never fully installed. No wonder in the video the driver was doing the hand shuffle instead of hand over hand with what was basically manual steering.

    Ivan,

Looking at the pictures still available on the auction website, it does indeed have the mandated quick release hub. They were made by several manufacturers in different configurations.

The steering wheel is typical of the suede momo wheels used when the car competed.

Your rear clutch housing was drilled as shown in the regulation manual. The clutch cooler would complete the Challenge set-up.

Your car is in good hands at Pocono Sportscar.

I noticed the suspension actuators were missing as well implying it is probably running a fixed setting setup. I would check the passenger foot compartment to see if a challenge Bilstein damper ECU is still there.

I'm planning on taking advantage of Barry's experience with his Challenge car and duplicating his Penske setup described here: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/149100738/

Indeed though I will check if the ECU is there and store it along with the dampers for the future and/or next owner. I am more focused on performance on track than originality currently.
