It's just bizarre since the interior space is generally about the same as the sedan - it really is nearly all external 'padding' to make them look 'tough'.
Agree 100%. SUVs are like reverse Tardis’s. I’ve owned a couple of Range Rovers and an X5 as well as Chloe having had several small to mid size SUVs and there is way more space in a normal wagon. In fact I’d bet there was more space in my various Golf wagons that there was in the X5, let lone how much more space there is in the current Passat - It’s cavernous. They also look better, handle better, weigh less so more environmentally friendly and are less obnoxious on the road. And this is exactly what Chloe says when I ask why she likes them. So I reckon that’s probably the main thing for women. Men whom love these enormous cars are probably compensating for something else.
My Volvo XC90 was in for a belt change recently and I used the 911 as well as the Z3 to get to work. My 80km commute was not fun, surrounded by semitrailers and tradies driving like idiots in Hiluxes was not pleasant. The high driving position IMO is a no brainer for freeway driving. I would not buy a normal size sedan as a DD
Translation: This is a modern 355/360. Which was peak road going Ferrari for a lot of us. Ferrari - God love them - don’t make cars like this any more. Sadly.
