Either TP's don't want to hurt feelings and rank based on WDC finishes, or they are completely detached from reality.
https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/who-was-the-2nd-and-3rd-best-driver-of-2024.700838/ Putting Lando 2nd is nuts when he had the best car the majority of the season and could only get 4 wins despite 8 poles, and still had less points than Max since Miami. IMO, Lando badly underachieved. Charles easily 2nd, Alonso 3rd, Carlos likely finishes 4th ahead of Piastri if he didn't miss a race. Highest I would put Lando is 4th, but one could argue Carlos and George Russell did better with the cars they had. Piastri shared the best car, and as mentioned, likely would have finished behind Carlos. Yet they rank him above Carlos? Make that make sense.
I don't know that I would rate Alonso that high(though I am a huge fan) as the car was so poor it is difficult to assess his performance. I agree with you regarding Lando, I don't think that he has the mental toughness to be a WDC. When the pressure is on he cracks.
Yes, it defines their position in the standings. At the end of the year, that is what matters mathematically. Does it rank their actual ability as a driver? No. But lets say Lance Stroll was in the 2020 Mercedes and finished 3rd or 4th. Would any TP rush to sign him with a big contract as the 3rd or 4th best driver in F1? I highly doubt it.
Isn't this just another way of calling him a snitch? I get where you're coming from, though—I'm not completely unsympathetic. I come from the old school where you settle personal differences behind closed doors and keep things private, rather than airing it out to sway public opinion. Reminds me of this classic.
I meant that those words are synonymous with "political." "Snitch" is just a "tattletale," or "stool pigeon."
Verstappen races in Mustang Dark Horse for Ford In the video, that is called 'Living on the Limit', Verstappen gets the most out of Mustang. The video captured the fans imagination, as many are already looking forward to seeing the four-time world champion possibly testing other cars of the brand, including the Ford Mustang GTD. At the moment, any further events haven't been released. The Ford Mustang Dark Horse is equipped with a V8 engine that has 453 horsepower, and accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 4.5 seconds. In terms of F1, Red Bull Racing will enter the final year of their partnership with Honda in 2025. The Japanese engine manufacturer will join forces with Aston Martin from the 2026 F1season onwards, while Red Bull will develop their own power unit for the first time in their history, in partnership with Ford. The PU will be called Red Bull Ford Powertrains. Watch 'Living on the Limit' with Verstappen!
Well, presumably they want to promote a model marketed to ~normal enthusiastic consumers (rather than a smallish production exclusive that is already pre-sold)

I have no clue. Its a genuine question. Most F1 drivers actually lease their jets. I think Michael was one of the last one to genuinely own one. It makes more sense to lease than than to own one i think.
