Picking up my 458 after it’s been De-Stickied…destickyed…unstuck??? You tell me. How would you state the sticky problem has been resolved?

it’s a pleasure to push any button and my finger is not covered in a goopy mess of button coating.

It’s an expensive process to have it done by others but worth every penny.

Congrats. My 2013 spider is pulled fully apart for this at the moment. Unfortunately, a massive, and costly job for the 458.

Is there any meaning to the Italia colors above the Ferrari badge on the 488 Spider? Is it for a package option? I have it on my 488 Spider also.

Any surprises during the process? My local Ferrari is doing the removal and then sending it off for the refinishing. I am about to go in and look over the car to make sure they didn't miss any bits!

Also, did you get your rear view mirror done? I can see the button box there.

No surprises, the independent shop that did the removal did a great job. Even eliminated a dash rattle I had for years when he put the dash back together. The rear view mirror is not sticky (yet), and is the only part I did not have refinished. I was advised that there is a slight risk of breaking the windshield when removing the rear view mirror, so I decided to wait until it becomes sticky to have refinished.

Would love some insight into what other issues one should look for if considering buying a used 458 spider? Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere? Also what kind of cost is it to replace the sticky buttons??

You can customize your Ferrari with the Italian flag /emblem. It is a Factory option when initially spec out your build...I think it's 1-2k? Some guys love it/ some guys feel like they don't need an Italian flag to signify that it's a "Italian" car. I personally think it looks great and even more so on Colors like white/gray/black. You can order online through several sources...like myRicambi.com. They are $150-200.

De-stickying (or whatever we are calling) cost me about $15k and I did NOT have every piece done. My mechanic and I selected what was needed initially and later there was an additional piece or two that he selected as the disassembly was in process. It all worked out and i am very happy with final look/touch. BTW we used Dr. Sticky to do the work.

I did about half of my interior sticky surfaces before putting my car in storage for the winter.
Used the pdfs on this forum to do the disassembly myself and then about $4k with stickyfixrx.

I plan on doing the other parts in spring. It really makes the car feel like new!

I added before and after pics from the center console. The new fit and finish is amazing, and as someone who does not do a lot of work on cars, getting the pieces out took 5 hours, and putting it back together was about 4.

Woah, that is a lot. Here in Aus, Ferrari charges roughly $6k aud and about $1k of that is fixed labour cost from them to pull and then reassemble. Then it is all refinished by a local guy in Melbourne.

Is that what your sticker under the hood lists the color as? Not Giallo Triplo Strato or Giallo Tristrato. I'll bet yours says "Giallo Cod. 64059355"

Mine is the spider. I know the Lusso is in San Diego. I'm curious of the location of the F12.
