296 Harness Bar & Mounting Kit for GTS?

That's pretty costly for a harness bar but OK... The HB looks to bolt into the C piller shoulder anchor points. The picture is not great but I would be concerned about the lever arm of bar to the pivot point on the C pillers. But then there is that bolt hole on the passenger side. Does that bolt to perhaps an anchor for a child seat that would help stabilize the HB from possible rotation and unfavorable torques? Good thing is it comes with sub belt anchor too. I can't tell if that anchor is for the front seat anchors assuming a sub belt seat hole or to the rear seat anchors for a parachute style 6pt. harness? But at least the intention is for a 6pt harness instead of the less safe 4pt ASM style which really is no safer than 3pt. If you go with a 6pt. then use a HANs type device too because modern harness belts minimize belt stretch. The 1990's are long gone. Costs go up to buy the HANS but modern cars are just FAST!

 

We haven't tried installing our harness bar on the GTS yet but if anyone is local to us, we would love to work together and make it happen. We actually just purchased our own personal 296 GTS and my R&D team looked into doing a harness bar kit for the GTS models. The problem we are running into is space. The GTB's have more room behind the seats to allow for a harness bar but the seats on the GTS models are essentially hitting against the firewall. So there really isn't much room to work with on these cars. We do offer some great exhaust upgrades that will improve performance and sound with a NO CEL guarantee and no tuning required. Ferrari doesn’t offer the harness option on the GTS ( they do on the GTB ) due to a lack of space. But I imagine Ferrari will have a harness for the 296 GTS VS that will be released next month. So just be patient and with some luck you can take the solution from the Versione Speciale and install that on your regular GTS.
