So are all you poofs in SE QLD ready for a possible cyclone next week? Apparently a fair chance it will hit Brisbane / northern NSW from Wednesday or Thursday. Not great.
WTF is going on with all of these car adverts? Do I need to turn something off in my settings? The HOS are not even for sale here in Aus??
This could be one for the record books actually. It doesn't seem as though ANY cyclones have actually crossed the coast as far south as NSW. A number of them have come in the back door from Qld and maintained some form of wind and lots of rain, flooding etc.
I'm expecting the Gold Coast will get hit so I'm clearing the deck It'***** us a few times over the last 28 years I've been here
Fair point. It was the ABC / BoM after all, so definitely not to be trusted! The surprising bit is I didn’t see the word “unprecedented” anywhere…
As far as I've seen the southern most cyclone that CROSSED the east coast was @ Coolangatta/Tweed Heads. On 20 February 1954, a tropical cyclone crossed over Coolangatta. While the cyclone occurred when weather patterns were unnamed, it was unofficially given the title The Great Gold Coast Cyclone. Serious structural damage to buildings occurred in Brisbane, Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
Fair enough. Probably correct. I suspect that if / when this does cross the coast it won’t be as an actual cyclone - nevertheless not good. Lots of rain and fairly strong wind for sure.
Yep. And it’ll continue to change every few hours until it doesn’t. I think if it does cross the coast it’ll pretty much bullseye Brisbane but will likely have been downgraded by then.
Yeah I agree Steve..IMO I can’t see it coming into northern NSW..It will cross the coast as an intense low pressure system I think but will still produce shjt loads of rain..
