    *instructions needed.
Does anyone have step by step instructions or a video to remove the dash under the steering wheel?

You should not need to remove the dash under the steering for the CarPlay install. The NIT is on the passenger side of the GTC4Lusso.

Thanks. Found out the hard way. All the instructions said it was under the steering wheel but it ended up being on the passenger side.

any luck with this one? Have you successfully retrofitted CarPlay? I'm looking for guidance on removing head unit to install aftermarket FRI unit. If anyone has guidance I would appreciate it.

Hi mate. My experience has been pretty bad. Got it installed but kept having issues. It was interfering with the original unit, the screen on the left of the rev counter would flicker and approx 10 minutes later the centre screen would turn off with no audio. They sent me a replacement, although I had to pay half the cost with a promise of a refund when I return the original unit. Paid for installation a second time ($450 AUD twice), it worked for a few hours and has started doing the same again. KKS have been responsive and say that their technician is looking into it. Their explanation so far is that it could be due to a RHD car. So far, no other solutions. I'm contemplating taking it off and returning it but then I have to get the installer again and pay $450. I'm a bit sick of it.

If you find more clarity here I would love to know. I'm going to try to attempt my own install on a unit for a left hand drive car. Will report back soon. Thanks again!

Any update? They've offered to send me an updated next gen system. I'm still sceptical and thinking about just returning it and forgetting about it.

I have successfully disassembled the dash and located the NIT. I am creating a step by step video detailing the install process from start to finish. I'm on a short pause since I'm waiting on my CarPlay unit to be delivered still. Once it arrives I can "plug and play", test to unit, and re-assemble. Stay tuned...

no I actually bought it from an eBay seller, "Automotive Tech". Great communication, cheaper, good instructions and support and shipping was fast. Same product as KKS just different vender.

    Update:

I have successfully installed the FRI CarPlay unit in my Lusso. Tested and works with no issues. Quality is good and I'm happy with it. I now have full screen CarPlay which is a lot more appealing then the wired Apple car play the vehicle may have come with. My all in cost was 879 dollars.

Congrats. My experience has been terrible. I ended up getting it removed and sending it back. I spent a total of $1200 AUD in installation and removal cost. Hopefully I'll get a full refund for the unit. They offered me a "newer model" with an updated software but I decided to give up.

I have a video of my install I'm putting together now. Honestly, you can install this yourself if you want to re attempt at some point. Take a break and then reconsider in a few weeks after watching the install video. I'm in the United States.
