Yes, he said only test locations have done CPO so far and they will never do it. I'm sure they move a huge inventory, but they are still very small and their main business is custom jewelry.

I have put in time and effort. Customer for nearly 20years. Go in store at least once a month to show my face and chat with salesman. This particular model, they have received 4 from Rolex in past 2 years. Salesman puts my name in only to get denied by people who have spent more money. Salesman had nerve to say if I have spent 100k in sales my chances would be higher.

That sounds like you have a lousy AD. Just like anything else, some are good, some are not.

I have purchased several Rolex's from Bobs. Most recently a gold day/ date 41. The warranty transfers, no hassles.....avoid the dealer BS. Its the same as paying the ADM on new cars that are highly desirable. To get my Pista in 2019 I had to get 2-3 other new Ferraris. Came out OK $$, but will never do that again. My Pista sold on BAT most recently (I believe it sold 2 times after I sold it) for the same price that I sold it for in 2020.

A friend and walked into an AD and starting looking. They had one he liked and would sell it to him. I basically said, your stupid if you don't buy that watch, He finally said ok I'll buy it.Sales gal offered me a job in jest. Since then, he has bought 3 others, one per year. We walked in last year, manager winked at me and said new shipment tomorrow is coming, be here by 11am.
Had one come in I liked, Sold it to me on the spot. Here's what I liked and bought. White gold and steel. I think if your genuine, they would like to sell you a watch.....Now if I asked for a Daytona I think he would politely decline at this point anyway.

I would recommend contacting the people on this Board if you want a high demand Rolex.

I just purchased a never worn Daytona with everything for a very reasonable price.

I bought a Air King last year from Bobs, and it was painless, and they actually sent it right to my house vs. Fex Ex center. Torneau is doing the CPO thing so if you want a Rolex go there. when I bought my White face ss Daytona - in 2011, I just walked into Brown & Co - had only been in to get watches serviced before, so no real relationship... and walked out with my watch. To this day when I go in.. buying a "grail" Rolex from them gets me ..... NOTHING.

So when does the supply side of economics catch up with Rolex?

is it in the exact same shape as Ferrari? certain models will go above retail no matter what, certain models drop minute you walk out the door. I don't think it will change. right now the economy for luxury goods is still very strong.

After getting educated from Eddie last summer, on his recommendation I made a relationship with 3 separate ADs, making sure that they weren't part of the same corporate group. Made appointments with each, and each one spent 60-90 minutes with me during the initial introductory meetings. They each told me that they put me on their lists. In each case it was all very special, they each treated me serious even though at that point I was no body to them.

I then stayed in touch with each sales person, mostly via email but a couple of calls also. Just checking in every 3 weeks or so asking questions or wishing them a great weekend or whatever holiday was nearby. And when I'm near their stores I stop in.

Within 8 weeks from the 1st appointment, I got a call from the 1st dealer and made the purchase. Maybe 6 weeks later the 2nd dealer called and made that purchase also. And then right after the turn of the year, the 3rd dealer called but she offered me a dupe of a watch I already owned at that point, so I passed.

All 3 sales people did admit to me that once I'm on their lists and I get a call I need to buy. I can pass and not buy one offer, but if I pass again a 2nd watch offering, I get dropped off their list.

I guess patience and being communicative with each of them paid off. I still check in with each of the dealers. I suspect as the year anniversary gets closer from my 2 purchases, I'll hear from the two dealers I did business with for something else they have me down for.

I only ever aspired to own a Rolex, it happened when I was 10 and saw my 1st James Bond movie - Live and Let Die. It was a big deal for me, my parents let me and a few friends go see the movie without adult supervision. Roger Moore wore a reference 5513 Submariner, and I was hooked. I have a couple of Breitlings and a vintage Heuer and a few other watches, but my 3 Rolex's are the center of my collection and purchasing 2 of them brand new from an AD really felt good to me.

that was a lot of work, but you are a better customer for them than flippers.

I do remember when I went in a young Indian guy came in same time "looking to buy a new Rolex". He screamed flipper to me, so I'm sure set their radar off too. I was in there 15-20 minutes nice conversation with sales, tried several on, and he took all my info. The young Indian guy was only in there about 3 minutes.

It has been said. Keep visisting your Salesperson and make a relationship. I created mine by buying a tudor and from there went into 2-tone rootbeer (used) and then and IWC and then I got the call for my Pepsi about 1 year after starting. Since then I have 3 more and even though I've bought a boatload I still can't get the Patek I want from him. So if you can imagine how crazy the Rolex world is Patek is 10 times worse!

I’m in Tokyo this week and went into 3 different Rolex stores. Nothing available for purchase, said “no stock”. I’m on the list for a Sky Dweller and Sea Dweller back home with my AD, and still waiting for months. I am tired of all this Rolex BS and now thinking of going to Bobs and just getting what I want.

Should be no markup on a Sea Dweller and small markup on Sky Dweller.

it has been almost 6 months and no calls. I'll drop in one of these days, maybe with the AP I got. I will get a Daytona grey, but would like to get a no-date Sub through the dealer. that shouldn't be something that takes too long.

No date sub should not be a difficult watch to buy. The days of waiting for these models are long gone, maybe bar the Daytona and perhaps the Pepsi. Where I live they usually have some bi and white gold models in stock. GMT, Subs etc.

This article is ********. Blaming rising Rolex prices on Gold. What % of Rolex watches have Gold? How much Gold goes in a watch? Umm, did the non-Gold watches not go up in retail as much?

I’ve been waiting 8 months for a no date Sub from my AD, where I’ve bought a 31mm OP, a Hermes Cape Cod, and about $1,000 of replacement straps for two JlC reversos. I’m no high roller but they know me.

6 month Rolex AD visit went much better! An older chick I could Rizz. She was so nice. Helped I was dressed nicer wearing the AP and know 10x more about watches now. I kept it simple told her No Date Sub, 41 OP, or maybe Explorer I. Nothing with dates. We laughed about changing trends talked about my usual watch was a 48 Garmin, so getting use to the size and joked about women going to 36's same as Apple Watch. We'll see if it translates into anything!

I’m tempted to go into the Rolex dealer now. I’m so dependent on my Apple Watches which I upgrade every year for golf , fitness tracking etc that even though I appreciate a fine dial and a cool bezel ( I build instruments and we buy all kinds of exotic dials and cool needles / pointers ) I just don’t think I will be able to use the purchase. But I have a kick ass relationship with my liquor store to get the good stuff and this is just to see how I would do in this game

I finally got the call today. After 1 year requesting a Sky Dweller or Sea Dweller 43m, I got my Sea Dweller. Paid in full when I got the call and picking it up on Saturday. I’m hoping for the Sky Dweller in 2026.
