Save yourself a world of pain and buy a Merc 280SL "Pagoda", twice as elegant, always an occasion to drive and very easy to live with.
Anyone who thinks "the future of electrification, classic cars are quickly becoming the poster child for electric conversions" richly deserves the misery of driving a Series II Landy.
In more ways than one John. What an absolute waste of time and money. A proper 4wd being turned into a cars and coffee tart. How far would you have to travel in,lets say Sydney,to go proper 4wding? I know when I lived there I used to get out and about with Suzuki's as I worked for Ateco Thornleigh when the 2 strokers came out. If I recal we used to do a fair bit around Weismans Ferry and on to St Albans down some fairly proper tracks and creek crossings. How far would a return trip to your base be AND how much extra electricity would you use doing close in low range stuff...I haven't a clue
Simon, you are forgetting how treacherous some of those gutters are in Paddington! And you are right, you would never make it to the Wirraba Ridge track and back on a charge, let alone get up it..
A Stag in ordinary condition is $25k, a Pagoda $250k. The Merc parts are much more expensive. Prefer 10 Stags instead
Nah, different colour for each, everything original. I don’t do stories cars Image Unavailable, Please Login
I saw a nice (refers to chart) sapphire blue one driving under its own power in Lismore the other day..
I have an acquaintance who's been restoring his SB for about 20 years....I think he's up to the upholstery stage.....poor bastard.
Just did some dyno runs with the Emira. 283 rwkW and 442 Nm Pretty happy with that and consistent with others’ results which are showing the engine making more power and torque than advertised. Nice!
