I think DR would actually drive that RB as well as Max
Over the years, drivers have been moved from ToroRosso/Alpha Tauri to Red Bull. Seen as a promotion at the time, it became the kiss of death for some.
bagged them 8 titles so far. In the same time since RBR existed, Ferrari have gained the 2007 WDC and the 2007/2008 WCC.
Yes and 8 from Mercedes. Thus far since Max/ Vettel its not produced another driver capable of winning. They essentially ran out of drivers last year. Picked up Ricci again. Do not promote Yuki, gave Lawson some races in VCARB and its not working out. Fired Albon and Gasly, took on a veteran Perez. Lately its been less than capable this 'young driver program'. Has Antonelli had more training than RedBull's young one's??? Hadjar might be viable at some point..............
Yuki was not in the Red Bull YDP. He was Honda's boy. After RBR did a deal with Honda, part of the deal was Yuki. Gasly & Albon are clearly very capable drivers, they just can't drive the Red Bull. Perez was so often called the "king of the midfield" (because of the bad cars he drove, not because he's a midfield driver), and for their title aspirations, and no drivers left in their YDP, they had to go with experience, and even that failed. The program is solid. The problem is Max and he capability of driving cars with what aero engineers and the wind tunnel says is the quickest. The wind tunnel doesn't care about drivability. Max's ability masks the bad points of the Red Bulls, and the aero map highlights the inability of ''mere mortals''. Even according to Albon, who at this point was already out of the program, he really likes a cars with a strong aero map at the front, but he was completely unable to drive the car. Can Red Bull make a car that's easier to drive for everyone? Yes. But the problem is, this would move the aero map more to the center. Do that, and you lose performance. Red Bull can't make up that performance in the chassis, so why would they make the car slower overall, just so that more people can drive the car? This is a problem for them when Max leaves. The YDP is very successful. How many drivers in the last decade came to F1 because of Red Bull? Hell, how many on the grid today? Quite a few... Lindblad looks very promising so far.
All the problems RB is having now is RBs fault. Max doesn't run the team or design cars. Too much friction and drama within the team, and loosing Newey, Max becomes like many other drivers without the best car, rarely wins and less podiums.
Did you see the Shanghai RACE? Max let Leclerc and Hamilton get out ahead of him only to let both Ferrari drivers "ruin" their tires. There was no way Max was going to catch both Mclaren drivers and Russell. Then Max turned it up in the last 20 to 23 laps left in the race. Ferrari pitted Hamilton with 20 laps to go for new hards and when Hamilton came back out, Hamilton was some 22 seconds behind Max and started knocking out 1:35's to catch up to Max.(too little too late). Then Max was catching up to Leclerc and passed Leclerc with 2 to 3 laps to go in the race. Max was playing Chess.....not Checkers.
This year RB is terrible, the Racing Bull cars are better. Max is the real deal and is out driving the RB. Redbull will have a hard time finding a number 2 driver that can come within a couple tenths of Max. Max will have a few wins and may still fight for the championship with a mediocre car.
Nah, you going too far or just being sarcastic. I see no evidence that RB is behind Racing bull. No time in history has RBs b team outscored them in constructors. I do see racing bull drivers are getting better results than Lawson.
It would only help. Marko already advises the 2nd driver not to challenge Max. So my thought is they are just looking for consistency. Right now Lawson looks worse than Perez, and that's hard to do.
Erm no, he doesn't expect them to match Max. Big difference between expecting and advising. Max's teammates have been solid. Ricciardo beat 4x champion Vettel. Sainz had much more racing experience, yet was beaten solidly by Max. Sainz went on to beat Norris, Leclerc. Gasly was destroyed and went on to win a race and several podiums in cars that didn't belong there. Albon was destroyed, turned it around and is outpacing Sainz now (circle back to Sainz). Your earlier claims don't match up.
No. If they were good RB would have kept them. Or at least kept for multiple seasons. Many of his teammates never go to another top team or remain at a top team. The market speaks and tells the truth.

This is what happens when you hire has been drivers like Vettel, Alonso, Hamilton and let's not go back to the old days
