New talking point. What do we think will cross over from the F80 to the VS? Steering wheel?

I would love for the steering wheel from the F80 to make it into the 296VS and the remainder of the range, for that matter. I’m also hopeful that the new lightweight seat from the SF90XX makes it to the 296VS. That seat fits me perfectly and is a quantum leap in comfort from the previous racing seat design.

I can see that happening. I thought I read somewhere, when the F80 came out, hat the wheel was going to start showing up across the range. Not positive, but seems logical.

Increased redline to 9k? F80 is 9200, so short of that I’d guess.

Enzo engine went in 599 - people went crazy, as it was 48 hp shy, Then came GTO 1hp more than Enzo
I expect next gen VS will be the better copy of the F80 - we will see but I think they will hold back a bit.
Love to see more than less - expect interior XX like and dialed back engine.

Seems like with each succession of VS models the design, technical and price differentials keep getting wider.
Hope this trend continues in a positive way. I don't mind the price differential as long as its justified with performance and good looks

I understand that the revised 296 wheel will be phased out with buttons returning .

This is to be done quietly , as any Ferrari fix is .

For instance Check it the rear wheel wells of recently delivered 296 and you will find metal mesh now protecting the slits in the felt like material that was failing on track

No issues with controls, 458S 16M sticky buttons knobs broke / repaired - prefer current.
SF90M soon - SF90 til XX arrives 296 til VS arrives - hybrid overload for guys with late allocations.
Hoping for LOW VS numbers - VS SF90M RomaM 12Ci - dealer decision to make coupe and spider models buyers get special next debut - dizzy.

I find it strange that we have not seen the finished car in camouflage around Maranello, we saw the SF90XX and F80 but with the 296VS nothing even close to the finished car, and to say its reveal is a matter of weeks away, not even a photo of it parked, there's always something leaked but not this time.

I saw what I think was the finished car ( yellow prototype , hoping that this will be the launch color ) , but it’s just so heavily camouflaged that you just can’t be sure.

Update. Dealers know their allocations numbers. Dealers decide whom they allocate the coupes to....to qualify for a GTS version you need to have 3 current generation Ferraris in your stable. You must have a 296 in your garage now and when the VS arrives. Preference is given to 296 owners who bought new and kept their cars.....if you qualify, call your dealer asap and ask them kindly for a VS allocation.

Have a Portofino M, 296gtb and just received my SF90 spider, all in garage, previously built and sold 812 GTS Tailor Made, sold F8, sold California T, on order Purosangue TM and 12C TM. Also expressed interest in Corsa Pilotti beginning training in fall. Dealer says they are still trying to understand the process and figure out allocations with no commitment as of yet. Thoughts???

My understanding of the process is dealers have a list from corporate of who they CAN offer a VS GTS to. I'd assume if you're not on that list, you would have been told no. If I had to bet, I'd say they have offered all allocations to others but perhaps not all customers that were offered have confirmed, and you're on a "B list".

    Grain of salt.

without telling a long story here is the bottom line.

If your dealership has more great clients than they do allocations the dealers decide. Often they decide based on past overall performance of the customer. Used cars, new cars, participation in event....there is a scoring system that the dealership uses.

Even then if the dealer get 3 allocations and has 20 customers 17 people lose. On the 296 Aperta VS Ferrari does play a hand in deciding who gets a car. Ferrari SPA sets the rules and approves the customer. The dealer sends to Ferrari their list of clients who they want to offer the Aperta to...Ferrari then chooses. We didn't qualify based on our current Ferrari holdings. We do qualify for the coupe...which we gleefully accepted.

The levels above mid-engine VS, FERRARI tells the dealer who to offer their super special cars to. 812 Comp, TDF etc

Love it or hate it Ferrari IS a meritocracy.
People get upset when they can't buy their way to a status level and get the special cars.

This means if your dealership has a long history with droves of well established and proven customers you have zero chance of ever climbing the ladder.....

.....there is an alternative..... Find a NEW dealership that is looking to build their customer list, request that Ferrari approves you to buy from this new store (you have to have the new dealership ask Ferrari directly) and then order 2-3 cars. Make the 3rd car the VS....this is what I did. You may need an address that is in the new stores area (PO box that uses real addresses will work).

Of course you could always buy pre-owned.

I’ll believe I’m getting one when I’ve executed a doc and sent a deposit. I’d like to see the actual car first, though. 5 weeks!

Is this structured as a single stage (1 deposit, then balance on delivery) or in two stages (deposit 1, deposit 2, balance on delivery)
