Since buying 0454MD I’ve been purchasing up every magazine, program, and book I can find with the car in it. The research is great fun, but also reading all of the old magazines and accounts of races with many incredible Ferraris. I scanned this one from a 1958 SCCA magazine to share because the caption of the photo is so great. It’s Ed Martin in 0730TR racing at Dothan/Napier Field October 25-26th and the caption reads “The shortest distance between two points is a 250 Testa Rossa.”

We're not supposed to talk about this race until 25 October 2028, but yes, very cool caption ! :)

I hadn’t realized the date trend until you mentioned it. I’ll try to stick with posting date correct or put stuff in another thread so this one doesn’t get derailed. For this photo, I’ll bring it back up in a few years! :D

Yes. Kare stated #186 was an Europa and not an Europa GT.

Here is a slightly better photo of Bernabei at the Coppa dei Laghi. Also there was Matrullo. His reported Alfa 2000cc was I think his old 012I re-engined, but a photo would be great.

In my personal files I have a remark at this entry: "Other source lists chassis as 0695 GT (250 GT Boano) but Swaters website lists chassis 0341 EU".

However, I can not recall what this "Swaters website" was neither can I find it again...... :(

Thanks. Of course impossible that it was a Boano in March 1955 but I wonder if it could not be a 250 Europa GT, the one that was raced in Belgium in 1956 with larger rear wheels arches. I think to 0371GT.

I am 100% sure that I did not mean the Gianni Rogliatti book "Ecurie Garage Francorchamps".
