They know exactly how many they are making / line change dates for production. Do they make more than they say in a limited run - rumor has it Not sure what GTS - Ferrari dealers may take a deposit - there is no guarantee Ferrari will make it and close the books. The only variable - is a few cars go to the highest points / reward dealers. Atelier Tailor Made etc No way does a factory operate without supplier schedules / line change dates - old Ferrari 100% went to the parts bin but not at 13k plus cars public company - the bean counters are there in force. Anyway - we shall see shortly on who what when for the VS - it is and or will be clearly written who can and who can't.
They don't however with so many aftermarkets It's interesting that they don't ask. They only look at the weave pattern ignoring the most important thing. Oh well enjoy your carbon is all I got to say. Ferrari will love you donating extra money to them. And thank you for having a part in me making Millions We need more people like you.
I for one am happy to make you rich. I Luv carbon fiber. I’m even considering doing colored carbon fiber. Is that twice the cost?
Ordered colored carbon on exterior CF parts - originally they wouldn't tint some items. Interior they only tint some CF parts - would have looked odd to have a mix.
How about the name of "we" resin making millions. Per your post, you supply Ferrari and or their CF suppliers - post a link to learn about your resin company. Interesting to know the process etc.
Never supplied Ferrari and never suggested it. Ferrari isn't the only company in the world to use composites. Google is your friend if you want to learn. Good luck on that. Back to the composites : You like them , cool. If you like the 1000% add on cool. If you can get your money back on them cool. If you are not worried about getting your money back on them cool. Your car , Your money , Your like. Ask the internet where Ferrari and Porsche and a few other car companies gets their Carbon Wheels And why 4 wheels cost $50,000 . Hum I wonder what the real price is. Please don't take this the wrong way , enjoy your carbon , just pointing out its the resin which is important.
interior carbon fiber is a genius marketing technique, it's come so far now that they've managed to change perception that a car which doesn't have it is 'poor spec' so effectively added thousands more profit to every single sale
I was wondering why I was arguing such a silly point about resin and now it all makes sense. You sell it! Resin is not the key ingredient that makes carbon great or determines its quality. I get that you’re biased and have a vested interest in saying it’s the “key” part but it isn’t (see my previous posts). I agree that high quality resin is important and makes a big difference, just not the most important. I didn’t understand why such a simple topic had gone on so long (who talks about resin this much LOL). Makes sense now.
It was suggested to offer "brushed aluminum" options for the interior inserts. Unfortunately, this was rejected.
You realise I really dont care if you like , want carbon. I have just made the point that the resin is the component that makes it a product. So if you know how carbon determines the quality please state the different grades of carbon that are available. NOT WEAVES , Carbon. Being a resin chemist I do have a better understanding and your argument is moot if you believe the resin used on Ferrari parts is the same as those used on other companies. Either way I was just pointing out a misconception. You like Carbon buy it. Full Stop
Bingo. Remember not just Ferrari but also the DEALERS. They have limited cars they receive. They will sell all of them 100% . Their mission is to raise the price on EVERY car they sell. If the carbon is a part of the engineering structure thumbs up anything else is just lipstick. You like the carbon cool. Just remember it wont make the car stronger , faster and that BS excuse lighter.
Cool ! FYI if you have the cash spend the extra on colour. Especially if you wish to keep the car for a long time
Yeah, will see. The 296vs will be covered in it no doubt, and it will be epic…and $$$. Having seen some bad resin jobs, it needs to be said that it is also important. It takes two to tango.
Well I might add to this, and yes I'm stupid for continuing the CF angle of this thread... you certainly DON'T save money by buying aftermarket CF for your Ferrari, McLaren or other Super Car. You may think you do, but if you don't buy the Car with the Spec'd Carbon Fiber you lose that value when you sell it because no one cares about your aftermarket Carbon Splitter even though you saved thousands on it. If it ain't on the list of what came on the car it is simply a lower spec. I don't believe the Ferrari Carbon is any better than others, but you still won't get the bang on resale for Aftermarket stuff even the Novi and other stuff. It just part of the game, and it been being played for a long time... Alcantara is another silly thing.. fake suede fabric...
... and another weird diversion. Da 100% but for Alcantara material / suede differ in quality at dealer Atelier TM same with leathers and finishes - love seeing the TM's using all sorts of items making it personal. The fabrics with proper care hold up well and match car theme. Similar to carbon - can't wait for someone to post what 'ingredient" makes the fabrics and leathers viable.
