296 VS

Same here and I can tell you a lot of my Porsche car friends in my circle are gone from Porsche. A lot of us bought GT3 GT3RS, Carrera GTS plus other daily Porsche's to drive. My local dealers have ruined it all. I moved on to Ferrari and other daily vehicles. I was THE Porsche guy, buying Porsche's, tracking with our Porsche club and other track organizations, buying the hats, shirts, gifts etc. I still have a Cayenne in my garage but it will be gone by the end of the year most likely.
My local Porsche dealer is even adding 10-20% TO MSRP TO ANY PORSCHE PART you need and this has been going on long before tariffs.
I was told by my Porsche sales manager that he "might" be able to do a Turbo S 10% above MSRP but Id have to get certain options and buy into service plans and extended warranty. then he offered me a used Guards Red GT3RS at $100k over. Again, I AM DONE.

 

What you don't know - the more the dealer and Ferrari make the better your chanceof receiving limited editions and early allocations.

Im trying to figure out what we are supposed to pick up from the audio clip. One thing thing that caught my ear was the sound during shifting, but I may be wrong. Would love to get others take on the audio.

It doesn't sound like the 296 engine

 

I got a new phone and booted out of the app. Need to contact dealer. Of course :/

 

I got kicked out when I sold my Ferrari. I need someone to pirate the sounds for me and put it on KaZaa or Limewire

 

I was underwhelmed at first, but I played it for my kids and it sounded better. Upshifts very punchy, yes, can't imagine down! Didn't sound like the 296, but their audio clips have never been all that compelling.

As I listen in a quiet house, it's got a much more raw sound than a 296. Probably pretty epic when it comes down to it.

Listen on your computer or a better set of speakers. Phone is not great.

 

just listened.....that sounds like the 296GT3 race cars....especially the shifts. Oh my, feels like Ferrari is about to surprise all of us with something that is more special than the previous..specials.

 

listened again....Ti exhaust for sure.

 

I'd expect inconel, though wasn't the sf90AF exhaust Ti? Not the tips, but actual exhaust.

 

TBH getting tired of the sounds & being noticed. Use the electric mode more and more to go under the radar.
Weekends / Country roads different story - glad they are saving the proper noise for the track focused.
The F80 was a lil quiet - VS seems to have gotten it right.

 

Anyone who has heard the new video of the 296 VS, the sound is disappointing. An SF90 XX sounds much better. Judging by the video, it sounds quieter than a 296 GTB. It seems that both the F80 and the 296 VS are subject to EU regulations. 296 GTB and SF90 Stradale sound better than a 296 VS and F80 - strange world.

 

Quite the opposite. Don't listen on your phone, or it'll sound a good bit anemic. And I wouldn't be so quick to judge from a 5 second audio clip

 

Where can you listen to the sound on the app? The only thing I see is a countdown on the splash page

 

Disagree. Not quieter. What I just heard on my phone sounds more raw and mean than my 296GTB.

 

Wild take…

 

I don’t think it’s fair to paint all Porsche stores with the same brush. I’ve had a couple of very bad experiences—Porsche of Nashville being the worst—but I’ve also had some great ones. Kyle at Porsche of Beachwood, OH, for example, was fantastic to deal with. Overall, Porsche builds an exceptional product that will keep many of us coming back.

That said, I think the 296 is one of the most underappreciated cars ever made, and I’m pumped for the release of the VS!

 

@day355 wondering if you have heard the car and is the 296VS sound an improvement over the 296GTB?

 

That dude is awesome if we are thinking of the same person. He had a Lotus Exige, I believe. Very friendly.

It sounds very good! I wonder if they are, oh gee, I dunno, borrowing some tech from the flagship F80...

 

Same.. I've logged out, reinstalled app and no joy. Just the date appears..
