    Kroger had an akaushi chuck roast on special. Well, that sounds like a good excuse for pot roast. Added taters, carrots and shallots (wife prefers them to onions).

    Totally agree. Thai food truck on the North Shore totally ruined me for green papaya salad. 20 or so years later I've never found any place on the Mainland anywhere close to being as good. Ditto for a garlic and shrimp at a food trick near the Turtle Bay resort. I could go on for pages!

    Old school-Salisbury steaks, properly broiled, with oyster mushroom gravy, herbed spaetzle, first salad from the balcony garden. Going to steam some fattie asparagus spears with an everything bagel seasoned dipping sauce.
