After listening to it again on Airpods Max with volume turned up, it sounds great. Love the upshifts!
Deposits in couple of days ago. Like I said, you know you will have spider way ahead. In my case, I had a choice of coupe or spider or.. Now the fun of waiting begines.
You must have the world‘s most amazing ears to hear that. The regular 296 sounds better than the XX. I’m sure.
More interested in the older stuff right now as the dollars gap is getting smaller - thinking F12 TDF, 918, P1 etc etc
Maybe it's an Android app issue. I saw the button you referred to on an iPhone. Doesn't exist on my app.. so managed to listen to it on my friends phone.. sounded awesome!! Can't wait! I just bought a Pista Spider and picked it up today and I must say i do prefer the sound over my 296 GTS. However, against the 296 VSS... ooo I think it will be a tough battle. Might just be the app on the iPad but I don’t hear a significant blow off valve on the upshifts. Did @day355 ever say the color of the car he saw? Haven’t heard from either of my dealers so it looks like I won’t get one….
You dislike modern prices but will buy older knowing 150 200k incoming bill vs 7 -10 year warranty, Not a bad ides - just not a fan of above msrp modern exotic.
Good joke at worlds not, you judge without ever having heard or driven an XX. You are one to judge your own cars without having a neutral opinion.
Pista is one of the best V8 mid-engines ever. Powerful performance and a throaty sound. No sound module installed in the interior like in the 296.
F12 TDF, Competizione, Carrera GT the best cars in their league no high costs and fast and pure emotions.
I’ve heard an XX just as you’ve heard a 296vs. We’ll see when it all comes to fruition. I am not impressed with the sf90 sound. I’m more impressed with the 296gtb sound than any other modern turbo. Didn’t like the Pista sound either, hence why I got the speciale after. That’s just me. *I don’t and have never owned a 296.
A 296 GTB and GTS has an electronic sound module in the interior which classic Ferrari models such as the Pista, 812 Competizione and F12 TDF do not have. It may even be that a Dodici cilindri now has one, but I'm not sure. Stop ignoring the facts, a Competizione or a Pista have much more emotion and passion than a 296, far too many buttons and electronics, 2.9 litre V6 is unfortunately not really interesting and far too many cars have are built. Especially as a Pista still doesn't have an OPF, which alone makes it sound much better.
Okay let's wait until we heard a 296 VS in action and in live, I will tell you the truth and I would be happy if I am wrong and a 296 VS sounds fantastic.
That’s the first I’ve heard an electronic module. I believe it’s a hot tube that pipes in raw sound, not like BMW and Porsche where they put it through the speakers.
The Ferrari 296 GTB and GTS models feature a redesigned "hot tube" sound system, which channels unfiltered exhaust sound into the cabin before it's processed by the exhaust treatment systems, no mention anywhere of electronic sound module.
Hamilton saying "too many buttons, give me less tech and a slower car" bc it sounds better? uh huh That's what you guys sound like to guys buying hybrid tech new controls - offering more speed. This button thing is so nutty - you like the old plastic sticky - go get it, I have two cars with sticky B's I don't think you and others quite "get" simplicity is available, some of us want technology to try. It's just a car and we don't like it we sell it - it's ok to let us enjoy. Anyone can buy an older car - not anyone can buy a VS. Interesting Hamilton just requested Ferrari to build a manual - it has its place 100% we will see if Ferrari agrees - my guess is it will be expensive and limited Sounds are like paints - everyone has their preferences.
