Is this the future for Ferrari F1...shoe sales? No talk of upgrades or strategy if it rains or what will it mean to the slowest Ferrari driver by the end of FP2.
Totally nothing to do with all those having to replace their Mercedes branded gear to Ferrari. None at all.
Not to mention in what screwed up F1 world does shoe and t shirt sales count more than wins?!? I find it hard to believe that any amount of merch sales is worth getting embarrassed on a global stage when you are supposed to be the powerhouse, dynasty of F1.
As i've said in my previous post. Elkann signed a billboard. That's all. I do not think Ferrari is really serious about winning, or producing any nice looking road cars.
3rd race(Suzuka) of the season and here are the standings compared to 2024. 2024 - Sainz 15pts - Leclerc 12 pts Total points for the race = 27pts Cumulative total after 3 races = 102pts 2025 - Leclerc 12pts - Hamilton 6pts Total points for the race = 18pts Cumulative total after 3 races = 35pts
From an on-track performance perspective, yes. From Hamilton merchandise sales, their selling like hotcakes from a balance sheet perspective.
The hats and shirts are predictable though. Vast majority of Hamilton fans had to exchange their Mercedes shirts for the new Ferrari ones. Next year the drop off will be significant, as not everyone changes for the latest hats/shirts every season...Unlikely that the 44 will change for a 1 next year, too.
As a shareholder I'm thrilled, especially given the overall conditions. As a Hamilton fan, and a Ferrari F1 fan... this season needs some work.
Exactly. Check out Ferrari’s media accounts. The new Lewis fans are already bashing Ferrari and blaming them for holding their “goat” back. This was a very shortsighted move by Ferrari. Why even have an academy if you don’t use it for future success? They should be embarrassed to show their faces.
Not like some of us didn't predict the social media backlash... The car isn't good enough for our current drivers to win GPs so far, true. But the 100 million a year driver so far hasn't beaten his teammate, who has zero titles, 8 wins, in a single grand prix thus far, one of those races is where his teammate drove with a broken front wing from the very first lap. Yes Only 3 races in but you'd expect a so called GOAT to be on top of things and handedly beat his teammate, surely.
I'm not sure what I'd call it, but for sure it's based on hope and experience from past results from 5+ years ago with a sprinkle of "we'll get the money back from all the hats we'll sell anyways".
I was very impressed with Lewis in China. Though the DQ put some things into perspective but I still think he drove very well in just his 2nd race. Lewis' qualifying has been better than I expected quite frankly, even though Lewis himself still admits to not doing well enough. He out qualified Charles in the China sprint and the main quali. Again, just his second race. Otherwise he's only been 2 or 3 tenths off of Charles. Honestly I expected him to be 3-4 tenths off Charles in these first few races in qualifying. I think most believe Leclerc is top 2 best qualifies in F1 right now. The races were usually better for him than qualifying, but this year his races haven't been amazing. Overall, I don't think it's been a disaster for Lewis. Any objective person would probably agree. In fact, I think he's doing marginally better than I expected. I suppose a die hard Lewis fan that believed he was the god of F1 is probably making any excuse possible to explain why he isn't doing better.
