    the original Daytona spyder show car was yellow with a plexinose and black painted side trough.
    interior i think was black.

    But the rear of the car was in body color and not contrasting Nero Ds.

    As you pointed out the factory typically debuts a new model in Red and Yellow.

    The P3/P4 which won at Daytona had the body of the P3 / and the update engine from the P4. The P4 factory engine had the performance upgrades of 3 valves: per Cilindri and fuel injection.

    The P3/P4 was open top. Inside it was a 2 seater with seat style of vertical pleats on the seat back and seat bottom.

    The interior of the P4 coupes were also 2 seater with vertical pleats and maybe at the end of their run some had switched to horizontal pleats.

    None had the Daytona seat style which appeared in the 206 Dino them 246 and also of course in Daytona GT and Spider customer cars

    The 206 was not offered with the Daytona seat inserts. The Daytona option on the 246 E series models was introduced in 1973.

    I think this configuration and its corresponding publicity are an interesting move.

    As one of the most important Ferrari dealers in history, perhaps this publicity is a subtle way of announcing that Ferrari will allow customers to opt for black parts in body color.

    I like the 12C with the black parts, but I think it looks even better in body color. I would only have doubts about the front, because I like the front stripe, but in body color it has a low-relief black line in the style of the SP3, which I like.

    There are certain configurations, especially those that pay homage to historic cars, that cannot coexist with large black parts on the rear and roof, such as recreating the N.A.R.T theme from '71.

    The 12C by Charles Pozzi more than proved that the design works with everything in body color, so this choice has to be left to each customer.

    By the way, something to note is the exotic and italian design of the rear glass, very interesting and visible only without the black parts.

    To backup a bit the 1967 race win at Daytona was an impressive triumph on Ford's home ground. The new Ferrari replacement for the 275 GTB was shown the following year at the !968 Paris France auto show. Before it's introduction the journalists speculated about the name this new sports model would be given. A rumor speculated that the new Ferrari would be called Daytona in honour of the USA win. Supposedly Enzo Ferrari was displeased that the model name had leaked out. As a result the name was supposedly dropped and following along from the 275 GTB the new model would simply be called the 365 GTB/4 instead.
    The actual show car was actually built by Pininfarina for the Paris show. The new style seat design was done in black leather with individual red cloth panels.
    This was the only time I recall that cloth was used on the seats. The new style seats were finished in leather for another show car 12301. This became the production standard. While the factory simply used the number name 365 GTB/4 the journalists adopted the simpler 'Daytona' name. In Italian the name became 'Daitona' without the English 'y' there. The unique Pininfarina style seats became synonymous with Daytona.

    Pozzi Blue is a color which Enzo bestowed on the French race team owner and dealership as a way of thanking them for their racing and customer car business.

    A big ‘Thank You’ for the wonderful historic details!

    These interior photos show the Pinanfarina Design teams interior design.

    Wow! What a style achievement! More than 50 years later and customers still request the Daytona seat design!

    The American 24 hour race is supposedly named after a man responsible for the local real estate. His last name was ‘Day’.
    Day town quickly became pronounced Day ‘Tona’
    esp by Italians.

    Any yes as the Italian language has little use for the ‘Y’, such as in ‘Cilindri’ it was dropped in Italy.

    Back stateside,
    we refer to a 12 Cylinder Ferrari!, as the true Ferrari!

    The car is wrapped with an entirely different spec underneath as per Pozzi's replies on Instagram. So he should still be alive and well
