That, is always a great drive, hopefully will be there in May. Did you ever to to Jack Castor's place? It was Disney. Unfortunately, pillaged to death.

    Regards, Alberto

I never got to meet Jack, but my buddy in Pescadero hung out with him, and was willed Jack's Intermeccanica Apollo Covertible; one of 11 MADE! And it's still in original condition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had lunch every year at Duartes either before or after Monterey week. We had some great times and some epic rides. One year (Monday after Monterey) we were driving the California down Highway 1 and were passed by another California Spyder headed north--incredible.

Afraid that Duartes has changed suddenly. It has become very expensive, and they serve Cambells soup now! The gas station across the street actually has the best tocoria inside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The BEST! And you can sit outside under the trees behind the building to enjoy them. It's what the locals do.

Many three hour lunches at Duarte’s….abalone sandwiches on sourdough bread, olallieberry pie and local beer and wine. When I first heard of it at least 40 years ago and asked a Cali naive how to get there he gave me the side eye and asked, “How do you know about Duarte’s?”:D

    I have factory photos.

As I have written before there was only limited demand for a 3-litre racing berlinetta in 1953, and as it was quickly saturated, 250MM started evolving into a "sort-of" luxury coupe. 0298MM was the first such car, soon followed by 0310MM-0312MM...

Sorry - don't believe I had seen factory photos of 0298MM.
Those should help settle this question on the car's original appearance?

Could very well be real, even though it does look like AI or an AI enhanced picture. It's showing 250 GTOs 4153GT (172) Bianchi, Berger, with the correct detailed body damage it picked up at Reims, and 250 GTO 3607 GT (175) Dubois, Montaigu at the Tour de France 1964, in which 4153 GT was the overall winner.
